John Boyega, who plays the stormtrooper turned traitor Finn, spoke with British Vogue about&nbsp;<a href="http://www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/2016/01/john-boyega-interview-star-wars-finn-actor">Star Wars: Episode VII</a>.&nbsp;When asked about the script, Boyega said it was" great" and "much darker" than&nbsp;Episode VII.&nbsp;He also said the next installment will be more physically exhausting for Finn.

Boyega is not the only actor who has spoken highly of Rian Johnson's latest script. Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, told Variety that she thinks the next movie's script is "very good".

Star Wars: Episode VIII&nbsp;doesn't hit theaters until May 26, 2017, but fans are already excited about the next movie in the&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;universe. Luckily for them,&nbsp;Rogue One: A Star Wars Story&nbsp;hits theaters on December 16, 2016.

John Boyega: Star Wars Episode VIII is "Much Darker"

<h2>'Star Wars: Episode VIII' to film in U.K.'s Pinewood Studios.</h2>
According to reports by <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-wars-episode-viii-uk-793033" target="_blank">The Hollywood Reporter</a>, 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' will film in the legendary Pinewood Studios.

The British government formally announced Monday that episode eight of the 'Star Wars' franchise will be shot at Pinewood Studios just outside of London.

"Pleased to announce #StarWarsVIII will be filmed here in UK @PinewoodStudios – great news for @starwars fans &amp; our UK creative industries," tweeted George Osborne, the U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer, the British equivalent of the secretary of the Treasury. Osborne also trumped up the $152 million (₤100 million) inward investment and 3,000 jobs the production will bring.

'Star Wars: Episode VIII' to Film in Pinewood Studios

<h2>The Director of Looper is to direct the next 'Star Wars' movie, 'Star Wars Episode VIII'</h2>
Disney is not playing around with the Star Wars franchise. The billion dollar company is already in development for 'Star Wars Episode VIII'.

According to <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-wars-episode-viii-sets-713726" target="_blank">reports</a>, LucasFilms is in talks Rian Johnson, the director of Looper to direct the next Star Wars movies.

J.J. Abrams is currently directing the first new, 'Star Wars: Episode VII', which is currently filming. It stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o and Max von Sydow, who will join the original stars of the saga, Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels,Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

Director of 'Looper' to Direct 'Star Wars Episode VIII' 

<h2><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/star-wars-episode-viii/">Star Wars: Episode VIII</a>&nbsp;leaked script is now going viral.</h2>
According to reports, the plot for the next Star Wars movies have leaked online and it has the Internet going crazy. According to BGR,&nbsp;someone from Rian Johnson's team spilled the beans on what's going on in the upcoming&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;movie.

Spoiler Alert. There are many spoilers ahead, assuming this information is correct, including who Rey's mysterious parents might be.

According to Comicbook Movie, months before&nbsp;<a href="http://bgr.com/2016/04/22/star-wars-episode-viii-plot-leak/">Star Wars: The Force Awakens</a>&nbsp;hit movie theaters, a plot outline leaked online and it ended up being "pretty much 99% accurate." A few days ago a similar leak hit Reddit, and we can just hope that it's fake. The supposed Episode VIII plot has been marked "debunked" on Reddit since being first posted, however it's not clear who or why it was debunked.

<h3>That being said, here the supposedly leaked script that was posted on Reddit:</h3>
<h2 style="text-align: center; padding-left: 30px;">Working title is &#147;Echoes of the Dark Side&#148;...</h2>

It&#146;s divided into three equally important plot threads that don&#146;t converge until the third act: Rey&#146;s, Finn&#146;s, and Kylo&#146;s.
There&#146;s not nearly as much action as TFA in the first two acts, but the third act goes full-on crazy.
The broad structure isn&#146;t as similar to ESB as TFA was to ANH, but the parallels are still present. Rey is training in the ways of the Force with an old Jedi master (Luke) on a wild planet while Finn and Poe are in a beautiful city that has a shady, sinister underpinning. Finn and Poe are betrayed and captured by Kylo Ren who uses them as bait to draw Rey out of hiding so Kylo and Rey can have a duel in an industrial portion of the city.
The backstory to Luke and his Jedi being wiped out is that Snoke seduced Kylo and a few of the other students to the dark side and tasked them with killing everyone. Luke and a few others survived, including a young Rey who was subsequently dumped on Jakku by Luke.
Rey&#146;s mom died in the attack.
Rey is pissed at Luke because she guesses that he was her father and is angry at him for abandoning her. Luke turns to her and says &#147;No, you are my father.&#148;
Yes, really.
Rey is the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker. Luke went to the first Jedi temple to better understand how the process works. He learned that the spirit of the chosen one is reincarnated by the Force every time the universe is thrown out of balance, which apparently happens on a semi-regular basis (Anakin was hardly the first time the chosen one reincarnated). This is why she&#146;s so crazy powerful with the Force (remember that Anakin blew up the Trade Federation donut ship by himself when he was like 8 years old).
Rey was the product of a virgin birth, but midichlorians aren&#146;t mentioned (Luke says &#147;you are a child of the Force&#148;).
Luke is hesitant to train her because, according to Jedi history, the chosen one always struggles with staying on the light side of the Force because of the chaotic power running through them. He&#146;s afraid that she could become Vader 2.0. If he trains her to fight Kylo, and she turns dark, she would do way more damage to the galaxy than Kylo could ever dream of doing.
He ultimately trains her anyway and leaves everything up to the Force. He makes this decision in a scene where he confers with the ghosts of Obi-Wan and Yoda (Ewan MacGregor and Frank Oz come back).
Rey learns lightsaber skills, Force skills, and has a vision quest thing where she talks with Maz Kanata (unsure if it&#146;s telepathy or just a dream) and Hayden Christenson. The latter tells her that she is him, but different, and there&#146;s a quick scene where we see hundreds of other Force ghosts who are implied to be past chosen ones.
Rey feels Finn&#146;s distress elsewhere in the galaxy and says she needs to go to him. Luke tells her about the time he felt his friends in distress and Yoda told him to stay and finish his training, and his disobedience led to pain. But then he says he isn&#146;t Yoda, and has his own way of doing things, and tags along with her to go help.
Finn wakes up on a Resistance cruiser and is told by Poe that they&#146;re already en route to the makeshift Republic homeworld in the wake of the capital planet being blown up by Starkiller Base.
Leia wants to lobby them to go to war.
The Republic is being led by an interim dictator named Lord Vikram (Benicio Del Toro), who was quickly put into power by the few senators still around to maintain order.
Starkiller&#146;s destruction of the Republic core worlds caused a galactic communications disruption because everything was routed through those worlds, so Vikram is trying to reestablish contact and ensure the Republic doesn&#146;t collapse into anarchy.
Leia and Vikram butt heads. Vikram agrees that the Republic has to go to war with the First Order, but wants to wait for communications to come back online so they can muster up a sizable force (all they have right now is a single small fleet). Leia disagrees, and wants to take the war to the First Order now while Snoke is still reeling from Starkiller&#146;s destruction. She says both sides are in chaos, which makes this an opportune time to strike. Vikram counters by telling her she&#146;s letting her personal emotions over Han&#146;s death get in the way, and Leia throws it back at him by telling him he was always a little snake of a politician when they would argue back in her senate days, etc, etc, they have old bad blood or whatever.
The Republic planet is safe because it&#146;s protected by a heavy duty shield that can repel any invasion or bombardment from the First Order.
Finn and Poe are tasked by Leia to investigate the city because one of Leia&#146;s contacts informed her that the First Order have spies embedded in the Republic. Leia suspects Vikram.
Finn quickly becomes enamored by Leia&#146;s contact, Chala (Kelly Marie Tran), who tags along with him and Poe through the underbelly of the city to gather information.
Finn and Chala have a flirty romance subplot that involves a nighttime adventure through the rustic old city (this is the second entry in the trilogy after all, and poetry demands it).
Finn, Poe and Chala all corner the culprit: Vikram&#146;s aide, who has evidence of contact between Vikram and the First Order. Leia and some Resistance fighters confront Vikram and throw him in jail for treason. He denies everything, and the rest of the Republic officials are horrified because Leia basically just coup-de-etat&#146;d the **** out of their leadership. Leia assumes control of the planet&#146;s defenses and absentmindedly puts Finn in charge of the shield codes.
Finn and Chala have a moment and Finn mentions his confusion about why Vikram didn&#146;t just lower the shields for the First Order. They walk into a room and Phasma is standing there and Chala draws a gun on Finn and forcibly takes the codes for disarming the shield from him. She says she planted the evidence, used Finn to get the codes, and basically that she thinks he&#146;s a dirty traitor to the First Order. In a moment of pure pottery, Phasma makes Finn lower the shields.
The First Order fleet jumps out of hyperspace and invades the planet, quickly capturing Finn, Poe and Leia. Kylo starts to torture Finn using the Force, knowing that it will draw Rey out of hiding and into his trap.

'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Script Leaks Online

<h2><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/star-wars/">Star Wars</a> will be protected by a "drone army" during the filming of <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/star-wars-episode-viii/">Episode VIII</a>.</h2>
According to reports, drones are going to be used to protect the secrecy of filming for Star Wars: Episode VIII in Croatia next month.

They will use their drone army to intercept other "uninvited" drones which have been sent in to photograph and record scenes from the new movie.

According to Mos Croatia, Disney is also hiring 600 guards to make sure nobody messes with the actors while they're filming scenes for the latest Star Wars movie.

Residents in Dubrovnik have been told that filming will start on March 9th. In 2014, scenes being filmed for Star Wars: The Force Awakens at Greenham Common in Berkshire were shot by drones and uploaded online. In fact, Pinewood ordered a drone defense shield system to stop leaks on set two years ago.

In addition, BBC reports that Dutch police are training eagles to grab illegal drones out of the sky.

The next Star Wars movie will hit theaters next December.

Star Wars to Protect Filming with "Drone Army"

<h2>Grab your lightsaber,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/star-wars-episode-viii/">Star Wars: Episode VIII</a>&nbsp;is now filming.</h2>
Filmmaker Rian Johnson is already making a few changes to the&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;universe. After a casting call was released for the new&nbsp;Star Wars: Episode VIII,&nbsp;reports suggest that filming is now underway for the latest movie in the <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/tag/disney/">Disney</a> movie.

According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, the director best known for&nbsp;Brick&nbsp;and&nbsp;Looper&nbsp;has started filming.

The sequel was set to begin in January, but principal photographer was pushed back a few weeks around the same time the movie's release was moved from May 2017 to December of that year.

Disney CEO provided updates on the studio's ever-expanding&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;universe during The Walt Disney Co.'s quarterly earnings call, boasting the financial success of the&nbsp;Force Awakens.&nbsp;

It is the only movie in history to make more than $2 billion at the global box office, and the only domestic movie to earn nearly $1 billion in the United States. In addition, he said it earned more than $3 billion globally in consumer products.

Iger said the company has a simple strategy for the future of&nbsp;Star Wars:&nbsp;don't lose sight of what sold all those movie tickets and merchandise.

&#147;There is no better way to propel this franchise into the future than producing quality products,&#148; he said. &#147;Filming of Star Wars: Episode VIII, the next chapter of the legendary saga, has just commenced and it will be in theaters December&nbsp;2017. And production of&nbsp;Episode IX, a 2019 release, has also begun.&#148;

&#147;Filming of Rogue One is virtually completed and we absolutely love what we&#146;ve seen so far,&#148; he said, of the heist story about Rebel plans to steal the blueprints for the original Death Star. (The film, directed byGodzilla&#146;s Gareth Edwards, will be released Dec. 16.) &#147;This is the first of a set of planned stand-alone stories and we&#146;re already in preproduction on our next one, for release in May of 2018.&#148;

The upcoming "young Han Solo" movie, which&nbsp;The Lego Movie&nbsp;and&nbsp;21 Jump Street&nbsp;directors Phil Lord and Chris MIller are making is based on a script by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan. While Disney has been moving&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;release dates from spring to the winter holidays, Iger's announcement that young Han Solo would remain in May, at least for now.

Initial reports suggested the latest Star Wars movie was headed to Ireland in order to film reshoots for&nbsp;Star Wars: The Force Awakens.&nbsp;But, Lucasfilm confirmed that director Rian Johnson (known for directing&nbsp;Looper)&nbsp;started filming for&nbsp;Episode VIII.

According to&nbsp;<a href="http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland/bad-weather-halts-star-wars-filming-on-skellig-michael-353827.html" target="_blank">The Irish Examiner</a>,&nbsp;"A crew of around 100 people and cast members, including Mark Hamill who will reprise his Luke Skywalker role, are expected to be on the boats due to leave Portmagee today at 7 am."

Shooting is set to begin as early as February 2016 in Pinewood Studios, but production suffered a slight delay. According to reports, director-writer Rian Johnson was going through some major rewrites for the movie's script. Apparently, the focus of the rewrites is to make Rey and Finn's roles bigger, while shrinking some of the newer roles.

It was revealed parts of the island Skellig Michael, where the Luke Skywalker scenes are being shot, has been reproduced for filming in Pinewood Studios.

In other news, J.J. Abrams' buddy&nbsp;Greg Grunberg, who plays Resistance pilot Snap Wexley in&nbsp;Star Wars: The Force Awakens, told&nbsp;<a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/comic-riffs/wp/2015/12/22/why-j-j-abrams-now-regrets-deboarding-the-star-wars-chair-before-episode-viii/" target="_blank">Washington Post</a>&nbsp;that Abrams is starting to regret not directing&nbsp;Episode VIII, especially after reading writer-director Rian Johnson's script for the upcoming installment.

Grunberg said, "[Abrams] read it and said something he never, ever says.&nbsp;He said: 'It&#146;s so good, I wish I were making it.'"



In an interview with&nbsp;Wired,&nbsp;The Force Awakens director confirmed that Rian Johnson's script for&nbsp;Star Wars: Episode VIII&nbsp;is finished.&nbsp;"I&#146;m sure rewrites are going to be endless, like they always are," he cautions. "We had meetings with Rian and Ram Bergman, the producer of&nbsp;Episode&nbsp;VIII. They were watching dailies when we were shooting our movie. We wanted them to be part of the process, to make the transition to their film as seamless as possible. I showed Rian an early cut of the movie, because I knew he was doing his rewrite and prepping."

What's interesting is how Rian Johnson's story appears to have also impacted&nbsp;The Force Awakens, as well.&nbsp;"Rian has asked for a couple of things here and there that he needs for his story," Mr. Abrams said. "He is an incredibly accomplished filmmaker and an incredibly strong writer. So the story he told took what we were doing and went in the direction that he felt was best but that is very much in line with what we were thinking as well."

Star Wars&nbsp;writer Lawrence Kasdan had a few things tos ay about Rian Johnson's new movie to&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/herocomplex/la-ca-hc-star-wars-lawrence-kasdan-20151206-story.html" target="_blank">LA Times</a>. He wants us to know that what Johnson is doing is very different from what we've seen before:
<blockquote>These movies will all be so different. [Episode VIII director] Rian Johnson is a friend of mine &#151; he&#146;s going to make some weird thing. If you&#146;ve seen Rian&#146;s work, you know it&#146;s not going be like anything that&#146;s ever been in Star Wars. You couldn&#146;t have three more different people than J.J., Rian and Colin [Trevorrow, Episode IX director].</blockquote>
Meanwhile, <a href="http://www.ew.com/article/2015/12/20/jj-abrams-reveals-obi-wan-and-yoda-are-star-wars-force-awakens" target="_blank">J.J. Abrams told&nbsp;EW</a>&nbsp;that we shouldn't worry too much about the lack of backstories for some of the characters in&nbsp;The Force Awakens. Those backstories and revelations are being spread out through the rest of the films:
<blockquote>Everyone who has seen these movies thinks about &#145;I am your father &#133;&#146; and &#145;There is another &#133;&#146; But neither of those things were in [1977&#146;s original] Star Wars. Star Wars didn&#146;t say Luke was the son of Vader. Star Wars didn&#146;t say Leia was the sister of Luke. You didn&#146;t understand what these references were: the Empire, dark times, Clone Wars. There were these things that were discussed that don&#146;t get explained. George [Lucas] dropped you into a story and respected you to infer everything necessary to understand what you need to know&#133;Can this movie actually also hold, &#145;And Rey is this &#133; And Finn is that &#133; And this is where Poe is from &#133;&#146; This is the first of a series. There is a story to be told. And it will be.</blockquote>
Talking to Vogue, John Boyega, who is reprising his role as Finn in&nbsp;Episode VIII,&nbsp;revealed one or two major details about Rian Johnson's upcoming installment. He said,&nbsp;"[The script is] great. Much darker, but we&#146;re very excited&#133;My part in the next film will be much more physical so I might be in the gym a bit more.&#148;

Star Wars: Episode VIII&nbsp;will be released on Dec. 15, 2017, which is almost a full seven months later than its initial release date of May 26, 2017.

'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Open Casting Call for Extras

<h2>If you're wondering why the release of <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/star-wars/">Star Wars</a>: <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/star-wars-episode-viii/">Episode VIII</a> was pushed back several months, than you should probably blame the recent <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/box-office/">box office</a> earnings.</h2>
According to a <a href="http://www.thewrap.com/why-star-wars-episode-viii-delayed-its-release-date/">Disney source close to TheWrap</a> says, “‘The Force Awakens’ broke the mold for what a December title can do and the shift made a lot of strategic sense."

J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens broke several records over the final two weeks of 2015 and dethroned the highest grossing movie of all time, Avatar. The original opening date for the next Star Wars movie was expected to be released on May 26, 2017. And now it will open seven months later on December 15th.

The previous May opening may have missed the big family audience that come together during the holidays. But, how will this effect production? According to reports, director Rian Johnson has no problems. The studio did secretely move up Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales  to the previous Star Wars release date.

“If you look at ‘Pirates,’ that franchise has previously had a lot of success in May, with the last one making more than a billion with a similar release,” the insider said.
