On Thursday evening, sources revealed that some last-minute concerns arose regarding what the management side perceived as new negotiation points raised by the WGA. Job Details: We are conducting a casting call for a photography and video shoot in New York City on October 3rd and 4th. We are looking for diverse families to participate in this project, which aims to capture the essence of familial bonds across different ethnicities.
Job Responsibilities:

'Hidden Figures' Starring Taraji P. Henson Atlanta Open Casting Call

Following her Golden Globe win, Taraji P. Henson has signed on to star in Fox's Hidden Figures movie. 

Ted Melfi will direct the movie about a group of black women who provided NASA with important mathematical data needed to launch the program's first successful space missions.

Fox is planning to release the film Jan. 13, 2017, to coincide with the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.

Taraji P. Henson recently signed with UTA for representation, and the agency wasted no time in lining up a starring role in a studio movie.

It's important to point out that 20th Century Fox is working with their leading lady as she stars as Cookie Lyon on Fox's mega-hit series Empire, for which she won a Golden Globe earlier this month.

'Hidden Figures' Starring Oprah is Now Hiring Crew in Atlanta

<h2>'<a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/hidden-figures/">Hidden Figures</a>' to film in <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/tag/atlanta/">Atlanta</a>, Georgia this January 2016.</h2>
Another major motion picture has hit the ATL. According to Come Tour Georgia, <a href="http://www.tourgeorgiafilm.com/article/now-filming-in-georgia">Hidden Figures</a> will film in Atlanta this January 2016.

According to Deadline, <a href="http://deadline.com/2015/07/ted-melfi-hidden-figures-black-women-mathematicians-help-nasa-win-space-race-fox-2000-1201473028/">Hidden Figures</a> centers around an unsung group of African American female math wizards who helped NASA win the space race. While it's just rumors at the moment, Oprah Winfrey, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Empire’s Taraji P. Henson are expected to lead the cast in the upcoming feature film.

Deadline describes Hidden Figures as a story that focuses on turning points in American history including the Cold War, the space race, and the civil rights movement. The movie is based on the novel of the same name written by Margot Lee Shetterly. Shetterly's father was a NASA scientists in Washington D.C. and notes that after WWII, federal agencies and defense contractors hired smart women to deal with the shortfall of male scientists. NASA did the same. While they confronted racism and Jim Crow laws in Virginia, these women became so important that NASA refused to launch until they signed off on calculations.

Hidden Figures will be directed by Ted Melfi. Melfi has been involved with several Hollywood blockbusters including Silver Linings Playbook, Shakespeare in Love and directed the critically acclaimed movies St. Vincent. Melfi was also tapped to direct new Spider-Manfranchise before the director abruptly  quit before the final decision was made to hire Jon Watts. Apparently, it had to do with directing this movie.

'Hidden Figures' To Film in Atlanta This Year

Jessica Chastain's new show about women in the 1960s who participated in a NASA space program is getting bashed online and called a "rip off" of the hit Atlanta filmed movie&nbsp;Hidden Figures.&nbsp;

Chastain's new show has the title&nbsp;Mercury 13&nbsp;and will center around the story of an experiment created in the 1960s by scientist and physician William Randolph Lovelace II, to see if women could pass the same rigorous physical and mental tests by the men of NASA's Mercury program.&nbsp;13 women, dubbed decades later as &#147;the Mercury 13,&#148;&nbsp;advanced&nbsp;through the tests until the experiment was shut down by the U.S. Navy.

Jessica Chastain's New NASA Series BASHED as a "Bootleg" 'Hidden Figures'

<h2>As we pointed out yesterday, <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/news/hidden-figures-box-office">Hidden Figures</a> is on fire and the movie's secret to success is making sure everyone can see the amazing feature film.</h2>
According to reports, Octavia Spencer bought out a theater so low-income families can see Hidden Figures. 

"My mom would not have been able to afford to take me and my siblings. So, I'm honoring her and all single parents this #mlkweekend," Spencer, 46, announced on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BPMCLodA3Yq/?hl=en" target="_blank">Instagram</a> over the weekend.

"If you know a family in need that would like to see our movie but can't afford it have them come," she wrote. "It's first come first served."

Spencer's gift to low-income families took place on Friday at the Rave Baldwin Hills theater. It was such an amazing gesture even the leading lady, Taraji P. Henson shared the post on her Instagram page adding, "This is how phenomenal this woman is," Henson <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BPS3lmTl_jG/" target="_blank">wrote</a>.

Octavia Spencer Buys Out Theater To Help Low-Income Families See 'Hidden Figures'

<h2>Taraji P. Henson's new movie <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/hidden-figures/">Hidden Figures</a> is a <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/box-office/">box office </a>hit.</h2>
According to reports, the Atlanta filmed production earned an estimated $26 million over Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend, making the total a jaw-dropping $60.4.

The movie featured Janelle Monae, Octavia Spencer and Taraji P. Henson. According to <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/hidden-figures-box-office-multiple-female-leads_us_587cd820e4b0b3c7a7b20bc5">Huffington Post</a>, Hidden Figures is also the first movie with multiple female leads to win the box office for two straight weekends since 2011’s The Help. That movie stayed at No. 1 for four weeks.

Meanwhile, Sing came in second with $19.2 million, which will bring the movie's domestic total to $238.4 million.

Liongate's La La Land came in third place earning $17.5 million bringing the Golden Globes winning movie to a total of $77 million.

Despite the box office acclaim, several movies flopped over the weekend. The By Bye Man underperformed with only $15.3 million. In addition, Mark Wahlberg's Patriots Day flopped earning $13.6 even though analysts predicted the movie would earn $20 million.

The other Atlanta filmed movie that premiered in theaters was Jamie Foxx's Sleepless. Unfortunately, the movie only earned $10 million over the four-day weekend on an estimated production budget of $30 million.

But, Jamie Foxx doesn't have to feel bad because Ben Affleck's Live By Night, Martin Scorese's Silence and Paramount's Monster Trucks also flopped in the box office.

Live By Night and Silence were both big budget movies but, unfortunately the movies did not connect with fans. Live By Night earned only $6 million this weekend, despite a budget of $65 million. Meanwhile, Silence earned only $2.3 million over the weekend.

But, nothing is as bad as Monster Trucks. That movie had a budget of $125 million and only earned $15 million over the four day weekend.

20th Century Fox first debuted the trailer for their new movie Hidden Figures during coverage of the Rio Summer Olympics.

The movie trailer focuses on the stereotypes and how a group of young black women defied expectations as they made history. The movie also features Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge and Glen Powell.
