Jack Harlow to Star in ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ Remake

Date:

White Men Can’t Jump, a 20th Century Fox film that will star Jack Harlow when it releases later this year, is based on the 1992 basketball comedy.

According to Deadline, Jack Harlow is gearing up to make his feature film debut in White Men Can’t Jump, 20th Century’s upcoming remake of the 1992 basketball comedy.

Harlow, who recently impressed spectators at this year’s NBA All-Star Weekend’s Celebrity Game with his hoop abilities, will play the leading part in the reboot, which Woody Harrelson previously played in the 1996 film. That production, written and directed by Ron Shelton, focused on Wesley Snipes as two street basketball players who join a two-on-two basketball tournament.

The “Nail Tech” vocalist got the lead part after his first-ever screen audition, which particularly impressed Barris, per Deadline.

Based on a script by Kenya Barris and Doug Hall, Calmatic, aka Byron Kidd II, is in charge of the film. Executive producers include Kenan Thompson, Ryan Kalil, Noah Weinstein, E. Brian Dobbins, and Brooklyn Nets basketball star Blake Griffin.

Casting for Harlow’s co-star and his character’s girlfriend, who Rosie Perez previously played in the 1992 film, is underway.

White Men Can’t Jump is a movie about two basketball players, Billy Hoyle (played by Woody Harrelson) and Sidney Deane (played by Wesley Snipes), who team up to hustle other players on the court. The film was released in 1992 and has since become a cult classic.

Despite being complete strangers, Billy and Sidney quickly form a strong bond as they hustle their way through the streets of Los Angeles. Along the way, they face plenty of challenges, but ultimately learn a great deal about themselves and each other.

White Men Can’t Jump is an enjoyable film that is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. It’s also a great example of the power of friendship and determination. So if you’re looking for a good movie to watch, be sure to check out White Men Can’t Jump. You won’t be disappointed.
