'Game of Thrones' has quickly become one of the most watched shows on TV right now. Despite, being on HBO paid subscription service, millions of people are tuning in by any means necessary to see what will happen next. But, before 'Game of Thrones' was a hit show. Casting directors were holding auditions for the lead roles in the book turned legendary TV series.

One role in particular, the role of Sandor Clegane aka The Hound was crucial to the success of the series. The Hound is played by Rory McCann and debuts in the series premiere. [Spoiler Alert> Sandor Clegane is known as the Hound for his savage nature and unquestioning obedience to his masters. Clegane served as the personal bodyguard of Joffrey Baratheon for many years, frequently following under Joffrey's sadistic orders. He joined the Kingsguard when Joffrey took the Iron Throne, but deserted his post during the Battle of the Blackwater.
