TikTok will Allow Content Creators to Sell Premium Episodes

TikTok unveils its ‘Series’ feature, which allows content creators to monetize their skills and generate revenue from premium episodes up to 20 minutes long.

Creators on the popular TikTok app can now begin to unlock a new source of income with their content.

The Chinese-owned app unveiled Series, a novel approach for content creators to monetize their stories as a premium material. At the start, the Series was only accessible to some of our top content creators; with this feature, users can post Collections featuring premium quality material that viewers must pay to access. TikTok users can now access a brand-new, extended format––Series. Each series can comprise up to 80 videos lasting as much as 20 minutes! This is triple the typical length of the 10-minute maximum per clip in regular formats. This new option allows the community to enjoy their favorite content and creators.

TikTok creators can determine the cost of their Series. Easily purchase your favorite content with direct in-video links or by visiting a creator’s profile page! The company declared that all Series videos must meet TikTok’s community guidelines standards, just like any other content on the platform.

Becoming a part of the elite group of creators who can now join TikTok’s Series program is possible, and soon enough, applications will open up for all those interested. Shortly, everyone can be eligible to participate in this innovative platform! Content creators can take full advantage of their Series earnings (less platform and processing fees) for a brief period, according to an official representative from TikTok. However, the long-term revenue split is yet to be determined. “As Series is in its early phase, we’re focused on building the product and hearing feedback from our creators to improve it,” the TikTok spokesperson shared.

TikTok’s dedication to rewarding creators is further demonstrated through its Creator Fund, the Creativity Program Beta, and the TikTok Creator Marketplace. The former pays content-makers for groundbreaking material on the app. At the same time, invitees who create original videos over a minute can earn ad revenue from brand collaborations with the latter two platforms. These initiatives ensure that revolutionary innovators are adequately compensated for their efforts!

Despite the mounting number of countries taking steps to restrict and even ban TikTok due to its ties with Chinese internet giant ByteDance and suspicions that it may compromise user privacy and security, operations continue as usual. Recently, Congress presented a bill allowing President Biden to prohibit TikTok under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act if passed.
