Orlando shooter, Omar Mateen, called 911 just before the shooting to pledge his allegiance to ISIS, NBC News reports.
Mateen told the 911 operator that the killing was dedicated to the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and the Tsarnaev brothers, the two brothers who carried out the Boston Marathon bombing, CBS News reports.
Mateen killed 50 people and wounded over 50 others in the rampage on the Pulse nightclub, one of Orlando's biggest gay clubs. The shooting is the worst mass killing in American history.
While, ISIS has not officially taken credit for the attack, officials have indicated that this is more an lone-shooter attack, like the San Bernadino shooting, and not an ISIS-directed terrorist attack like the attack in Paris.
