Live-Action ‘One Piece’ Breaks Netflix Record Set by ‘Wednesday,’ ‘Stranger Things’

Date:

The live-action rendition of ‘One Piece’ has achieved a remarkable milestone on Netflix, surpassing the previous records set by ‘Wednesday’ and ‘Stranger Things.’

Reports indicate that the adaptation by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda claimed the top spot as Netflix’s most-watched TV series in 84 countries within its initial days of release. This feat outshone the first season of ‘Wednesday’ and the fourth season of ‘Stranger Things,’ which held the No. 1 position in 83 countries during the initial weekends of their respective debuts.

The success of ‘One Piece’ can be attributed to its positive reception from critics and audiences alike. This acclaim is primarily credited to the involvement of the original ‘One Piece’ manga creator, Eiichiro Oda. The series features Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

About Netflix’s ‘One Piece’:

Eiichiro Oda’s “One Piece” is a beloved manga and anime series that follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates. Set in a vast world of interconnected islands and seas, Luffy embarks on a journey to find the legendary treasure, the “One Piece”, and earn the title of the Pirate King. Throughout their adventures, the crew encounters powerful foes, uncovers mysteries, and forges bonds of friendship. Beyond the high-seas action, “One Piece” delves deep into themes of dreams, freedom, and the indomitable human spirit.
