Acting Tips for Mascot Role

Being a mascot can be a great way to bring fun and enthusiasm to any event, but it takes more than just an energetic attitude to make sure your performance is top-notch. Here are some tips to help mascots bring their best selves to the stage:

  1. Be aware of your character; think about how they move, what their voice might sound like, and how you’d interact with people in their role.
  2. Wear comfortable clothing and practice in it before going live; nothing ruins a mascot performance like an uncomfortable costume!
  3. Practice your choreography and stick to it; properly executing dance moves or stunts is important for giving a good performance.
  4. Speak clearly into the microphone or use sign language if there isn’t one available; even small kids can understand what you’re saying when they see it!
  5. Be mindful of spatial awareness; know where the walls and doors are so you don’t bump into them during routines!
