Exciting casting call for “Crossing Cultures” – A journey through the immigrant experience in the USA.

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting casting opportunity for the upcoming feature film, “Crossing Cultures,” a narrative that explores the rich tapestry of identity, culture, and the immigrant experience in America. Set against the bustling backdrop of vibrant city life, this project seeks to delve deep into the lives of two characters of Indian origin, offering a unique perspective on their journey and the universal quest for belonging.

Amit (Indian Origin, looks 18-23 years):

Amit is envisioned as a young man who bridges two worlds. Having grown up partly in America, he embodies a blend of his Indian heritage and American upbringing. He is intelligent, soulful, and deeply attuned to the cultural nuances of both countries. The role demands an actor who can portray Amit’s intricate cultural experiences, work with dialect coaches to perfect an American accent and deliver emotionally resonant performances. Ideal candidates should appear within the 18-23 age range, and while previous acting experience is preferred, the key is a genuine ability to portray Amit’s layered identity.

Shankar (Indian Origin, looks 35-45 years):

Shankar represents the quintessential “cool uncle” – worldly, educated, and full of life. He has studied abroad and chosen America as his home, bringing a love for art and an effortlessly likable personality. The actor filling Shankar’s shoes must speak English, embody his charismatic and cultured demeanor, and quickly navigate complex dialogues. Appearing within the 35-45 age range and having prior acting experience in similar roles will be advantageous.

All applicants must be over 18 years of age as of January 2024 and should include their passport status in their application. These roles are not just about acting; they are about embodying and narrating the experiences of individuals navigating America’s rich and sometimes challenging cultural landscape.

Actors selected for “Crossing Cultures” will receive competitive pay commensurate with experience. Additionally, travel and accommodation expenses will be covered if applicable, ensuring a focus on creativity and performance.

This casting call represents a unique opportunity for actors to engage with significant, relatable, and heart-touching narratives. It’s a chance to bring to life characters that resonate with the immigrant experience, bridging cultures and touching hearts. Whether you’re an emerging talent or a seasoned professional, if you meet the requirements and are passionate about storytelling and cultural exploration, “Crossing Cultures” awaits your talent.
