In September 2010 Fiore Films announced that they have acquired the rights from Gotti to produce a movie about his life, more specifically about his relationship with his father. The film will center on the story of the crime boss John Gotti and his son.

Recently, screenplay writer James Toback said that the film will blur the line between fiction and documentary. Even John Travolta is excited about starring in this latest film, despite recent sexual assault lawsuits (that were later dropped).
Barry Levinson is slated to direct this film. He is famous for ‘A Walkin the Woods’, ‘The Humbling’ and Executive Producing ‘Analyze That’ in 2002. Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father will feature Al Pacino as Aniello Dellacroce, John Travolta as John Gotti Sr. and Ben Foster as John Gotti Jr. Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father will also feature Kelly Preston, Chazz Palminteri and Ella Bleu Travolta.
