HBO’s ‘Insecure’ Season 2 Open Casting Call

Date:

Are you looking for your next big break?

HBO is now casting actors, models, and fans to work on the hit HBO series Insecure. Insecure creator Issa Rae is looking for you and your best friend to appear on season 2 of Insecure.

From HBO:

The winners of the #InsecureOnSetContest will each receive one on-set position. This isn’t a quick trip to L.A. This is a legitimate, two-month position for an applicant ready to work hard. You’ll receive a stipend to help with housing and jumpstart your Los Angeles lifestyle. Best of all, you’ll be interacting with the team that brings the series to life, working on the same set as your favorite on-screen characters.

How to apply:

According to the casting call, all you have to do is create a video featuring you and your friend (just the two of you!) — and share why you’d each be an asset to the Insecure team. You only have 30 seconds to both make your case, so make it count.
Upload your submission to Instagram; tag @InsecureHBO and use #InsecureOnSetContest.

Your entry will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Creativity
  • Filmmaking chops
  • Passion

Contest will be open for submissions between 11 AM EST November 22 and 8 PM EST December 13, 2016.

About HBO’s Insecure:

Modern-day black women might be described as strong and confident; in other words, just the opposite of Issa and Molly. As the best friends deal with their own real-life flaws, their insecurities come to the fore as together they cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences.

Created by co-star Issa Rae and writer/comic Larry Wilmore (“The Daily Show With Jon Stewart”), the comedy series looks at the friendship of two black women in a unique, authentic way.

It features the music of both indie and established artists of color, and touches on a variety of social and racial issues that relate to the contemporary black experience.
