Entertainment News The Mr. Robot Scene that Caused USA To Postpone the Finale

[WATCH] The Mr. Robot Scene that Caused USA To Postpone the Finale

Date:

Here is the Mr. Robot scene that forced USA Network to postpone the finale until a week later.

Last Wednesday, the first season finale of USA’s hit TV series Mr. Robot was supposed to air. But after WDBJ’s Alison’s Parker and Adam were shot live on air by Vester Lee Flanagan last Wednesday morning, USA announced that they were going to delaying the finale. The network’s statement read:

The previously filmed season finale of Mr. Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today’s tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight’s episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time.

And now we know why, because of a scene in which an executive for the show’s villainous company known as E corp shoots himself live on television. Before Wednesday, it merely would have been a slightly disturbing scene and eerily similar to R. Budd Dwyer’s on air suicide in 1987. If it would have ran last week as planned, just hours after Parker and Ward’s deaths, it very well could have come off as ridiculous.
