Season 7 of ‘The Walking Dead’ is Officially Underway

‘The Walking Dead’ has officially started filming season 7

Although many of us are still shaken by the finale of The Walking Dead season 6, there’s no rest for the cast and crew who have already begun working on Season 7.

Greg Nicotero, the zombie VFX guru and visionary producer of the show, has taken to Instagram to officially confirm that production is underway. Which means that the cast is picking up where we left off several weeks ago and finishing the Negan cliffhanger scene that violenty brought the end to one of the show’s most popular characters.

Nicotero has a long history in the horror film industry, starting his filmmaking career in George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead over 30 years ago. As well as being a co-founder of the Oscar-winning special effects company KNB EFX Group. In addition, he has directed 15 episodes of The Walking Dead. 

Last season, he directed the show’s opening episode, mid-season premiere and the horrific season 6 finale. It’s expected the 53-year-old filmmaker will direct the opening episode of Season 7.
