Will Smith, Kevin Hart to Star in ‘Planes, Trains & Automobiles’ Remake

Will Smith and Kevin Hart are teaming up to produce a remake of the 1987 Paramount Pictures “Planes, Trains & Automobiles”.

The original movie was directed by John Hughes and starred Steve Martin and John Candy as two businessmen trying to get home for Thanksgiving. The remake will be a modern version of the original with Smith and Hart playing characters who are forced to team up to overcome travel issues to get home to their loved ones.

Hart’s HartBeat Productions and Smith’s Westbrook Studios, are developing the remake. Aeysha Carr from Brooklyn 99 will write the screenplay and will make her feature film debut.

Smith most recently appeared in Bad Boys For Life, which filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. He’s now working on King Richard, where he plays as the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams. Hart recently appears in Jumanji: The Next Level and wrapped production on Fatherhood, which is an upcoming drama for Sony Pictures.

Will Smith is working hard. In related news, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ reboot is coming soon. According to reports, the new version will be a dramatic reboot of the hit Will Smith TV series and will be based on Morgan Cooper’s viral video. Cooper’s viral video reimagined the NBC comedy series as a drama called “Bel-Air”. The video reached more than 5 million views on YouTube. Variety reports the show is getting pitched to multiple outlets including HBO Max.

In addition, Will Smith’s production company Westbrook Studios is now hiring. Will Smith‘s production company, Westbrook inc, is now hiring in Los Angeles, California.
