Project Casting

Matt Damon is taking the ‘Bourne’ franchise to another level.

The reunion of Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass for a new sequel in Jason Bourne series is officially underway.

The proof was revealed yesterday by series coproducer Frank Marshall, in the form of the first set photo of Damon in full, muscular Bourne glory which you can see above.

“First day of principal photography complete,” Marshall tweeted, “and happy to report, BOURNE is back! #Bourne2016 ”

Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass last Bourne movie premiered in 2007 titled The Bourne Ultimatum, the movie wrapped the trilogy and the series centered around the government’s obsession on the war on terror, ending with Broune leaking information about the highly illegal “Treadstone” program before going underground. The new Bourne movie sees the spy operating in what Damon has called a “post-Snowden” world though specific details about the plot have not been released.

Bourne 2015 is directed by Paul Greengrass from a script he cowrote with Matt Damon, and editor Christopher Rouse. Series veteran Julia Stiles is also set to return, along with Tommy Lee JOnes and Alicia Vikander in unknown roles. The release date is still TBD.
