“Fame School” The High School That Will Most Likely Make You Famous?

Date:

LaGaurdia High School, also known as “the Fame School” is secretly known as the school that will most likely make you famous.

Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts is a high school specializing in teaching visual arts and performing arts. The school, which is located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, has a mission of arts and academics, preparing students for a career in the film, music or entertainment industry as well as higher education.

What makes the school special is the fact that many of the former students give back to the school. Alumni from LaGuardia and its two legacy schools, High School of Music and Art and School of Performing Arts, are reportedly active in helping the students and the school through scholarships and support for special programs, such as school events, and reunions held at the school and throughout the world.

The school became famous after the 1980 feature film Fame. The movie was based on the student life at the School of Performing Arts before the school merged into LaGuardia School. It also became a TV series, a Broadway show and the original movie was rebooted in 2009. In fact, Paul McCartney said he wanted a school like LaGuardia aka “the FAME School” in Liverpool, England, his hometown.
