Golden Globes: Jennifer Lawrence’s Speech is the Most Heartfelt Thing You Will Ever See

Date:

Jennifer Lawrence won the Golden Globe for best actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy, on Sunday for her acting in Joy.

The actress had some stiff competition as she battled against Melissa McCarthy (Spy), Amy Schumer (Trainwreck), Maggie Smith (The Lady in the Van) and Lily Tomlin (Grandma) for the award.

Jennifer Lawrence began thanking director David O. Russell, whom she previously worked on two award winning movies including Silver linings Playbook and American Hustle.

“Every time I’m up here, it is because of you. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for your brilliance. Thank you for teaching me so much, professionally, personally,” the actress said. “Your love of cinema is so pure, and you’re so untainted by all of this. You make movies like you don’t even care if anyone ever sees them. And your heart — I mean that as a compliment. I just heard it and [gestures to her head, questioning the sentiment]. But really it’s such a good, pure thing.”

Jennifer Lawrence wrapped up her speech by giving a shoutout to her hometown of Kentucky and thanking Russell again saying, “I love you. I want us to be buried next to each other. I really do.”
