Remember When ‘Jason Bourne’ Wanted Extras to Work for Free?

Matt Damon’s Bourne 5 movie didn’t pay their background extras for scenes filmed in Las Vegas.

Matt Damon’s new movie trailer for Bourne 5 is going viral and it has people going crazy to see what Matt Damon is going to do next. But, there’s one little key detail that you probably missed in the trailer. Some of the background extras were never paid and asked to work for free.

In January news broke that Matt Damon’s new movie was looking for extras to appear in a scene filming in Las Vegas. Typically a background extra earns at least minimum wage to work on a production. In fact, in Atlanta, Georgia the median compensation for a background acting job is $8 dollars an hour with $64 dollars guaranteed. However, producers in Matt Damon’s next movie decided not to pay background extras for a scene.

According to OLV, casting directors were giving movie fans the chance to join the cast and crew in the next movie in the Bourne movie series, starring Matt Damon and Tommy Lee Jones but, background actors were not going to get paid.

Bourne 5 will film in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 14th, 15th, 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st and producers are looking for a ton of extras to appear in the movie. In fact, anyone over 18 years old is welcome to apply and have a chance to appear in the new movie. This is not a paid gig, but all extras will have the chance to work along side Matt Damon and meals will be provided. According to BeInAMovie.com, casting directors were looking for men and women that are interested to work for free on the new movie.
