Dwayne Johnson is the world’s highest paid actor for the second year in a row.

From June 2019 to June 2020, Dwayne Johnson made $87.5 million. According to Forbes, Johnson made $23.5 million from his starring role in the upcoming Georgia-filmed Netflix film “Red Notice”. Johnson also made money through his Under Armor clothing line, Project Rock.

This is a small decrease from 2019 where Johnson made $89.4 million starring in the Georgia-filmed “Jumanji: The Next Level”. Johnson first made the list in 2016.

Ryan Reynolds came in second with $71.5 million. Reynolds was paid $20 million for ‘Red Notice’ and $20 million for Netflix’s ‘Six Underground’. A third Netflix movie starring Reynolds is also coming soon, which will reportedly bring another huge check to the actor.

Mark Wahlberg came in third with $58 million. He made most of his income from the Netflix action comedy “Spenser Confidential,” as well as production on documentaries including “McMillions” and “Wahl Street.”

Ben Affleck came in fourth with $55 million from his work on “The Way Back” and “The Last Thing He Wanted.”

Vin Diesel came in fifth who made $54 million despite the release date of “Fast and Furious 9” getting pushed back. In addition, Netflix’s animated-spin off, “Fast and Furious Spy Races”, also helped boost Diesel’s bank account.

In relevant news, Georgia’s film industry is ramping up production with several popular TV shows heading into development in August. According to reports, Netflix’s ‘Ozark,’ AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead,’ and Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Red Notice’ are all expected to resume production in August. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson announced his production company would resume filming the Netflix film ‘Red Notice’ in a “quarantined bubble” next month.

Johnson’s production team, Seven Bucks Production, and Netflix are working together to create a “quarantined bubble” for the filmmakers and crew; the actor revealed on Saturday in a message and video via his Instagram account.

“They’ve been great in terms of sharing with us what has been effective with their bubble,” Johnson said. “And we can implement that in our bubble.”

He also acknowledged that the road back to work would be “tricky.” “There’s no blueprint here, we’re in the beta phase every step of the way,” Johnson said.
