Here Are The Most Popular Netflix Shows in Every State

Date:

These were the most watched Netflix shows in every U.S. state in 2018.

From hit TV series such as Daredevil and Stranger Things, Netflix gives their subscribers content to binge-watch and enjoy in 2018.

That said, the team at HighSpeedInternet.com decided to analyze Google Trends and come up with a list of the most popular shows in each state for the year. These kinds of stats are always fun to look at and usually produce some surprising findings such as 13 Reasons Why was one of America’s most favorite shows 2018.

Forty-six states this year had a new favorite Netflix show compared to what the same study found in 2017. The beloved show this year was the same as last year in only four states — Louisiana and West Virginia, both of which is Orange is the New Black, Utah still loves Stranger Things, and Missouri enjoys Ozark.

Moreover, the Georgia-filmed series Stranger Things went from being the favorite show in one state in 2017 to four states in 2018 —Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, and Utah. Also, the biggest Netflix fans in the country are apparently in Washington, D.C. Because in Washington DC, there was a 16-way tie this year for the location’s favorite Netflix show.

Overall, Netflix is a massive platform in the entertainment industry, with so much content for people to watch the company is planning on not stopping. The company disclosed on Friday that CEO Reed Hastings is getting a 7% raise, which could hit as much as $31.5 million salary and stock options starting 2019.

This news comes after Netflix revealed Sandra Bullock’s Bird Box was watched by over 45 million subscribers.

“Took off my blindfold this morning to discover that 45,037,125 Netflix accounts have already watched Bird Box — best first seven days ever for a Netflix film!” the Netflix Film account on Twitter boasted Friday.

If 45 million Netflix accounts did watch the Sandra Bullock movie, that would represent about one-third of the company’s 137.1 million total subscribers.
