James Avery the Dad from ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ died last night
James Avery, the amazing dad on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”  has passed away at  the age 68 according to TMZ.
Sources tell TMZ he died in an Glendale, CA hospital last night. James Avery had undergone open heart surgery and unfortunately, the surgery took a turn for the worse and the actor passed away late yesterday.
Barbara Avery, his wife had been sitting at his bedside but left for a short period of time and when she came back she learned he had just died.
Alfonso Ribeiro, Â who played Avery’s son, Carlton on “Fresh Prince” — just posted a message on his Facebook page.
James Avery even  reunited with most of his “Fresh Prince” cast, including Will Smith — two years ago at a charity event.
