‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ Extras Threaten To Quit Over Set Conditions

Date:

Extras on set of ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ are threatening to quit after new set conditions ban cell phones.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them producers are taking extra precautions to make sure nothing is leaked from the set of the upcoming Harry Potter spinoff movie.

However, extras are having their phones confiscated, and backgrounda ctors are not too happy with this new rule and regulation.

According to the Sun, extras are threatening to quit the movie if their phones are taken away because they insist long hours on set without access to their phones can hinder their ability to find future work in the film industry.

An anonymous extra told the newspaper: ‘We’re being treated like children. The production team is paranoid and many of us are thinking of telling them where to shove their job.’

Filming of the new movie started in New York earlier this year, which moved to Liverpool last month.

The Harry Potter prequel, which is based on J.K. Rowling’s book of the same name, featured Eddie Redmayne in the leading role as Newt Scamander alongside Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller and Katherine Waterson.

The movie is set 70 years before Harry Potter joins Hogwarts and follows Eddie Redmayne’s career as a magizoologist and his adventures in New York’s underground community of witches and wizards.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them hits theaters on November 16, 2016.
