Justin Bieber fans are upset with the pop star as he threatens to quit Instagram.
Justin Bieber threatened to make his Instagram account private over the weekend after his fans bashed Sofia Richie, daughter of the 1980’s pop star Lionel Richie, simply for taking photos with the pop star.
Fans hurled insults at Richie after she appeared in photos with the multi-platinum award winning singer.
In response, Bieber posted a photo to Instagram along with the note: “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”

#RIPBeliebers quickly went viral on Twitter. Within the hashtag, some fans expressed their frustration, claiming the pop star has not been showing his fans enough love lately. In addition, other fans were upset he referred to them as “fans” and not Beliebers.

Justin Beiber’s appears to have a love/hate relationship with his fans. He loves when he buys their records, he hates when they want attention. In fact, just last May he announced that he’s “done taking pictures” with fans, writing on his social media page, “It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human. I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity. I realize people will be disappointed but I don’t owe anybody a picture.”
