‘Empire’ Producer Hints a Cookie Spinoff Maybe Coming Soon

Date:

Empire producer says “there certainly could be” a Cookie spinoff.

The producer of Empire Ilene Chaiken hinted that there’s a strong possibility that there could be a spinoff centered on Cookie during the show’s Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour on Monday.

“There certainly could be,” Chaiken said. “We talk about it. I think the show offers so many opportunities. There are potential spinoffs with Lucious and Cookie’s characters, sure.”

Taraji P. Henson’s career is at an all time high after starring in the hit Fox series Empire. Her acting chops showed off her best acting talents and made her a breakout TV star. In fact, she earned several Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe in the process.

How this new spinoff will play out was not revealed or, if Taraji P. Henson would leave the hit TV show Empire to start on a new series on her own. However, Taraji P. Henson opened up about working on the new season of Empire. Henson explained: “At the core of her very being is her family, her boys. Anything she does is for the good of her family, and I don’t know what parent doesn’t understand ‘anything for her children’….I just don’t understand who wouldn’t understand that or identify with it.”

Filming for Empire is currently taking place in Chicago and casting directors are constantly searching for actors, rappers, dancers and musicians to work on the show. If you’re interested in joining the cast of Empire check out the latest casting calls here.

‘Empire’ centers around a hip hop music and entertainment company, Empire Entertainment, and the drama among the members of the founders’ family as they fight for control of the company. The hour-long family drama was created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, and stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.
