Dwayne Johnson Says He is Thinking About Running For President

Date:

Is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson going to run for president?

In a new interview with British GQ, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed that he has thought about quitting acting to become a politician.

“I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out. I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure. I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.”

This isn’t the first time Johnson has considered politics. In March, he was asked if he would ever run for president. “Maybe one day,” Johnson tweeted. “Surely the White House has a spot for my pick up truck.”

Ever since Donald Trump announced he was going to run for President, it seems like everyone is throwing their hat in in the political race. In fact, Will Smith, Stacey Dash, and Kanye West have all announced that they are interested in some form of politics.

But, would Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson be a Republican or Democrat? According to reports, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is a registered Republican and was recently featured in a Chris Christie, a former Republican Presidential Nominee, video.

And Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was also a guest at the 2000 Republican Convention. You can watch his speech below.
