Did Family Guy Go Too Far with Their ‘Cosby Show’ Joke?

Seth MacFarlene’s animated comedy tried to make fun of the ongoing sexual abuse charges against Bill Cosby by reimagining the opening credits of The Cosby Show “knowing what we know now.”

The segment featured Bill Cosby dancing around drugged versions of the show’s cast. MacFarlene drew the line by not including Rudy Huxtable (Keishia Knight Pulliam), but also inserted refrences to other TV shows popular at the time including Golden Girls and One Day at a Time. 

The cringeworthy moment was closed with a NBC peacock falling at Cosby’s feet with a drink in its hand.

MacFarlene’s team was surely making sure everyonew knew that the NBC network was involved and aided Bill Cosby while the show as on the air from 1984 to 1992.

It is interesting to point out that cast members from The Cosby Show used to publicly defend Bill Cosby in the past, now have walked back on their statements and are keeping quiet.

Nearly 60 women have come forward with rape and sexual assault allegations against the comedian.
