Job Detail: The Telsey Office, renowned for its excellence in casting for theater, film, television, and commercials, is excited to announce the opening of applications for the second class of The Telsey Office Miranda Family Casting Fellowship. This fellowship, established in partnership with Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Miranda Family Fund, aims to enhance opportunities for historically underrepresented artists pursuing careers in casting. This unique two-year, full-time fellowship provides comprehensive training and hands-on experience within the casting industry.

Job Responsibilities: As a fellow in The Telsey Office Miranda Family Casting Fellowship, you will embark on an immersive journey to develop expertise in casting for a diverse range of mediums, including musicals, plays, television, film, and commercials. Over two years, you will be mentored by experienced casting directors, associates, and assistants, learning the intricacies of casting through practical involvement in the casting process. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating closely with the casting team to identify and audition talent for various projects.
  • Assisting in organizing casting sessions, auditions, and callbacks.
  • Researching to source potential actors, considering diversity and inclusivity.
  • Analyzing scripts and character breakdowns to assist in making informed casting choices.
  • Communicating with agents, managers, and performers professionally.
  • Gaining insights into the decision-making process for selecting talent for specific roles.
  • Participating in industry-related events and networking opportunities.

Requirements: To be eligible for The Telsey Office Miranda Family Casting Fellowship, candidates should possess the following:

  • A genuine passion for and commitment to pursuing a career in casting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • An understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Compensation: The fellowship offers a competitive, salaried compensation package for two years.
