There's a new show in town! ABC's Women of the Movement has chosen Greenwood as one of its shooting locations for the upcoming limited series. Women of the Movement is being written/exec produced by Cerar and executive produced by Jay-Z, Jay Brown and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith of Roc Nation; Will Smith and James Lassiter of Overbrook Entertainment; Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor and Michael Lohmann from Kapital Entertainment; Rosanna Grace of Serendipity Film Group; Alex Foster and John Powers Middleton of The Middleton Media Group; and David Clark at Mazo Partners. Kapital Entertainment is the studio. ABC’s Women of the Movement is a new anthology series from Jay-Z and Will Smith. The first eight-episode season Of Women of the Movement is based on the book Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement by Devery S. Anderson. It will focus on Emmett Till’s mother, Mamie Till, who changed her life to get justice in her son’s name following his brutal murder in the Jim Crow South. Emmett Till was 14 years old in 1955, while visiting relatives in Mississippi when he was tortured and murdered. Till’s mother Mamie demanded an open casket public funeral, with the image of the boy’s body shocking the world. Mamie’s influencer had a profound impact on the civil rights movement
