Project Brief:

The story is set against a train derailment which happened in a small town in Michigan in 2002. Frankie, 17, with a moderate intellectual disability, puts pennies on the railroad tracks the morning of a chance train derailment. Believing himself responsible, he goes into hiding amidst a citywide evacuation and must survive for the first time on his own.

Dates: This short is set to shoot over a 5 day period sometime between August 2022 - September 2022. Each role will be shooting 2-5 days TBD.

Location: Michigan

Roles:

  • Frankie — 14-18, male, moderate intellectual disability, striking but loveable look. An outcast with a heart of gold, a romantic disguised as a tough guy.
  • Cass — 13-16, female, farmer's tan, cute for small-town standards with an unexpected charm. Frankie's love interest.
  • Frankie's Mom — 40s or 50s, female. Tough-loving hoverer/protector. Loves her kid to death but forgets he needs room to grow.

Rates: $300/day plus travel, accommodation, meals for each role.
