This Mother has grown up on the family farm (small scale operation). The farm is now under her stewardship as her mother has long since passed away, and her father is too old to run things. This mother is a single parent to her tween daughter, raising her with the values to honor the soil and all that nature provides… the honeybees, clean water, the delicate balance of all things in the garden. She’s a champion of truth and cherishes community. She works hard and gives back by helping provide fresh produce to the elderly in her community.

She knows how to nurture seedlings and handle the garden’s bounty. She’s a helper, never hesitating to push up her sleeves and pitch in. Her mom is her hero. You see it in the way she watches her mother tend to the garden, drive the tractor, gather flowers, read a book.

ELDERLY WOMAN – Age 65-85 | Hispanic or ethnically ambiguous POC –

This sweet, elderly woman has been living with food insecurity. However, thanks to the community garden and the kindness of volunteers, like our mother, fresh produce is regularly brought to her door. We see her tremendous gratitude shine through in her sincere eyes and genuine warmth.
