“The Vampire Diaries” spinoff “The Originals” is Ramping Up Production

This year’s Pilot Season has been nothing but exciting. Now, one of this years most highly anticipated TV series, The Originals, which focuses on the originals vampires featured in the The Vampire Diaries is ramping up!

OLV reports that The Originals will follow Klaus (Joseph Morgan), “who returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, a town he helped build centuries ago, and is reunited with his diabolical former protege Marcel (The Game’s Charles Michael Davis).”

Claire Holt will play or original role in The Vampire Diaries as Rebekah, Klaus‘ half sister. Other characters from the original series will also include Elijah played by Daniel Gillies and the werewolf Hayley played by Phoebe Tonkin. Daniella Pineda and Danielle Campbell are also slated to join the cast as witches while Leah Pipes will play Camille, a human that does not know about the supernatural universe that surrounds her.

The pilot will air April 25 as an episode of The Vampire Diaries. If the series is picked up, it will debut on The CW in the fall.
