STARZ New TV Series Casting Call for a Lead Speaking Role

Date:

STARZ new series from Katori Hall is now casting a new lead speaking role.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in Atlanta, Georgia starting this September 2018.

Producers are seeking the following types:

  • [UNCLE CLIFFORD] Late 30s is our ideal (but please do not limit based on age), African American, “The HBIC.” Sharp-tongued, wise, and always serving us with a side of extra-extra, the owner of the finest shake junt in the Dirty Delta is a gender fluid hustler with a heart of gold-plating. Masculine and feminine in equal measure, She/they doesn’t just make the rules—she/they enforces them with a set of perfectly manicured talons. Armed with little but their razor sharp wit and a face beat for the gawds, they’ll stop at nothing to protect their club and their girls from impending doom. A realist who takes their romance like a pinch of salt in cornbread, Uncle Clifford is rarely taken for a ride. But a longing for love exposes a vulnerability that proves to be a strength as they learns for the first time in their life to risk it all.

About STARZ new series:

The scripted, one-hour drama takes an unflinching and unapologetic look at the lives of pole dancers working down in the Dirty Delta.

Set in an infamous Mississippi “shake junt” called the Pink Pony, “Pussy Valley” is an intimate window to the unexplored southern strip club world, where the desires of pro-ballers and politicians collide with the dreams of five brave women. For these women, the line between performance and reality becomes blurred, as the drama of their outside lives threaten their onstage personas. On the quest for money, power, and respect, each woman must make a choice. For some it’s a step down, for others a step up, as the Pink Pony stage constantly shape-shifts between a platform for freedom and a gilded cage. In this world of smoke and mirrors, who will fall and who will fly?
