What is Ordinary Joe about?
NBC picked up Ordinary Joe, which is a drama series starring James Wolk. According to Deadline, House’s Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner and the Batman writer/director Matt Reeves and his 6th & Idaho banner are running the series. It is co-production of 20th Television, Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, 6th & Idaho and 3 Arts.
Ordinary Joe centers around the three lives of the show’s main character after he makes a difficult decision at a crossroads of his life. The series begs the question – how might your life look if you made a decision based on love, loyalty or passion.
Reeves originally wrote a pilot script based on the premise over a decade ago.
“I still remember when Matt Reeves shared this passion project back when I worked at Twentieth. Russel and Garrett wrote such a compelling and emotional script that was expertly executed from page to screen,” said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, Entertainment and Streaming. “We love how ‘Ordinary Joe’ lets us experience the universal question of ‘what if’ through an incredible cast of characters and engaging storylines.”

Project: ORDINARY JOE
Dates needed: Wed 9/22 (covid test), Friday 9/24 Filming date
Rate: $175/12 for filming date, $43.75 for Covid test
Brandi is looking for a real experienced Piano player to work on a TV series. You won’t be playing the piano, but you must have skilss and know your way around a piano. You must be at least 18 years of age or older, and either currently registered with Central Casting OR available to register this week before the work date.
Male or Female, any ethnicity, Casual look and attire, most important is REAL Piano playing experience. Must be available to Covid test tomorrow Wednesday the 22nd, and must be fully open and available all day Friday the 24th for Filming.

Rates: TBD (will be higher featured skilled negotiated rate)
- Brandi is looking for a ONE MAN BAND BUSKER/STREET PERFORMER type with own instruments/equipment. Male or Female, any ethnicity, must be 18 years of age or older, does NOT need to be registered with Central Casting. Must have a similar set up/kit to the photos, and must have a cool vibe and fun colorful attire. If you have Clown or Mime look and attire, even better (but not mandatory). Must be available to work in the Atlanta area on the Covid test and Filming dates.
- REAL SOUS CHEF – Looking for an experienced sous chef for a featured spot on Ordinary Joe – this will be a director selected role and you must be fully registered with Central Casting
NBC ‘Ordinary Joe’ Hand Double
- HAND DOUBLE PIANO PLAYER: We are looking for those able to portray Adult Caucasian looking male over the age of 18, who has hands that match the Actor’s below, that are able to read piano music and play the piano. I believe the song you will need to play along to is FIRE AND RAIN by James Taylor. You won’t be actually playing, you will be miming.
NBC’s ‘Ordinary Joe’ Rocker Kid
NEW EXCITING PROJECT SEEKING SKILLED MINORS FOR FEATURED ROLE!!
- PUNK ROCKER KID: We are looking for BOYS ages 12-15 who have Bass Guitar or Electric Guitar experience. Production will provide the instrument but the minor must know how to play the instrument (you will not need to learn any new songs but should be able to play a couple songs on camera)
- We would prefer edgy “punk rock’ looks – longer hair or fun hair cut – kids with their own ‘rocker’ style – Wardrobe will be provided by production
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: All minors working on set must have ONE (and only 1) Parent/Guardian on set with them – this person must also clear a covid test – no other minors (siblings, etc) will be allowed on set
