John Krasinski and Anna Kendrick’s  ‘The Hollars‘ Open Casting Call for Speaking Roles, Extras in Jackson, Mississippi

Morgan Casting is the local casting company for the upcoming feature film, The Hollars, which will film in Jackson, Mississippi this summer starting mid July. The feature film will feature The Office‘s John Krasinksi, Pitch Perfect‘s Anna Kendrick and Richard Jenkin’s from Six Feet Under. According to Deadline, “The Hollars” centers on  John Hollar (John Krasinski), an aspiring NYC artist who takes his girlfriend (Anna Kendrick) back to his Middle America hometown on the eve of his mother’s (Margo Martindale) brain surgery. There he’s forced to navigate the crazy life he left behind as his dysfunctional family, high school pals, his father (Richard Jenkins), and his over-eager ex flood back into his life ahead of the operation. The pic is produced by Krasinski’s Sunday Night production company and scripted by James C. Strouse in what’s described as a blend of Steel Magnolias and Garden State. Casting directors are holding an open casting call for extras and speaking roles in the movie this Saturday, June 28th in Jackson, Mississippi. The feature film will require a ton of extras and producers are looking for people to come and audition for roles, take a few quick photos, and join the casting director’s database for the upcoming feature film. This is a free experience and a great way to boost our acting career.

‘The Hollars’ Open Casting Call

For EXTRAS we are need all types. Men and Women of all ages and all ethnic backgrounds. Many children are needed as well. (No toddlers please). Some examples of background needed: cops, nurses, doctors, patients in the hospital, people and employees at the airport, kids on bikes, shoppers, etc. ALL TYPES ARE WELCOME! If you cannot attend and would like to be considered for background work on the film, please email two current photos, along with your name, age, contact information and city/state in which you reside to [email protected] We would love to see you in person if you can make it. For some of you we may invite you to read for a speaking role if we feel you have the right look for a particular character.

  CONSTANCE: (19 days) Girl. Looks to be 9 years of age. Mixed race. Caucasian/African American mix or can pass as. Ron and Stacey’s daughter. Please note any real sisters. MATILDA: (19 days) Looks to be 6 years of age (open to small 7 & 8 year olds) Mixed race. Caucasian/African American mix or can pass as. Ron and Stacey’s daughter. Please note any real sisters. PAM: (2 days) Female. Caucasian. 50s – 60s. Works at Hollar Heating and Plumbing. Ron’s Sister (should pass as sister of Richard Jenkins) She is Sassy and punchy. YOUNG MAN AT BANK: (1 day) Male. African American. 30s to 40s. Banker types. CASHIER AT LIQUOR STORE: (1 day) Female. 60s to 70s. Open to all ethnic backgrounds. Could have scratchy voice from smoking all these years. A real character. LATISHA (1 day): Female. African American. 50s to 60s. She is a patient in the hospital sharing a room with mom “Sally,” soon headed into surgery. QUINN OWENS: Baby girl (or can pass as). Caucasian. 6-18 months. Jason and Gwen’s baby. MINISTER: (1 day) Male. 60s to 70s. Open to all ethnic backgrounds. Looks like a minister. FEMALE NURSES: (1 day) x 6 Nurses. We are looking for 6 Nurses (OB, ICU, ER #1, ER#2, DELIVERY AND NEUROLOGY NURSES). Female Nurses. 30s up to 60s. Open to all ethnic backgrounds. Please note anyone with any real nurse training or a health care background. MALE NURSES: (1 day) x 6 Nurses. We are looking for 6 Nurses (OB, ICU, ER #1, ER#2, DELIVERY AND NEUROLOGY NURSES).
