HBO’s TV Pilot “Bashir and Diallo” Casting Call for African Americans in Atlanta

Date:

Casting directors are now casting talent to work on the upcoming TV Pilot “Bashir and Diallo” filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

CL Casting (The Hunger Games) recently announced on their Facebook Page that they will be team handling the extras casting for the upcoming project.

According to Deadline, HBO has given the upcoming TV pilot a green light to a half hour comedy pilot from the former Late Night with Jimmy Fallon writers and performers Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin.

“Bashir and Diallo” was written by the team and centers on two 30-year-old reporters, as they try to make it big in the growing black mecca of contemporary Atlanta, also known as as the New South.

Among the skits and bits written for Jimmey Fallon,  Riddle and Salahuddin wrote while on the show was Slow Jam The News With Barack Obama. Riddle and Salahuddin, who met while attending Harvard together, are the latest writers/performers from one of Michaels’ late-night shows to get a primetime project backed by him. This also marks Michaels’ second comedy pilot at HBO. He also has People In New Jersey.

Now Casting directors are seeking various types for this upcoming production. We will keep you updated on any updates!

HBO’s Bashir & Diallo Casting Call Information

CL Casting recently posted the following Casting Call on their Facebook Page:

We have a new pilot for HBO that we are seeking African Americans and we would like for you to submit your availability for 9/6-9/13.
Please see below for submission guidelines. We hope to work with you soon!

Step 1. AVAILABILITY
Grab your schedule and decide what days you are available 9/6-9/13. This means you must be available the entire day. Shooting can go for 12-14 hours and we can’t have an important piece of the scene leave. (And you ARE a very important piece of the puzzle.) Furthermore, please kindly refrain from asking us when shooting starts because we almost never know until the day before, and sometimes we do not know until the night before. You simply must be available ALL day.

Step 2. ARE YOU WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
After you decide what days you are available, let us know if you fit some of the roles/characteristics we are looking for. At this time we are looking for the following:

African Americans and male and female 19 and up

Step 3. SUBMISSION SUBJECT LINE
Once you decide that you are interested and available, and what we are looking for, the next thing to do is submit yourself for review. This is done by an email submission.

First, add a subject line:
Days you are available/ Your Age/AA/ Your Gender
Here’s everything broken down:

First put Days you are available. Use this Key: M-Monday T-Tuesday W-Wednesday TH-Thursday F-Friday
Next add your Age (Actual age not age range)
Your Gender Use this key: M-Male F-Female
Your Ethnicity AA-African American,

The photos should be clear. We prefer that you be the only one in the picture, but understand it’s not always possible. They do not have to be professional. We like snapshots that catch the REAL you. If you would like the possability of using your car please attach one as well.

Step 5. SEND IT
Please send all submissions to [email protected]. Double check that your subject line is correct and you have all the information in the body of e-mail.
