What is We Own This City about?
Jon Bernthal, Josh Charles, and Jamie Hector are teaming up for the HBO limited series We Own This City from the creative team behind The Wire.
Reinaldo Marcus Green joined the series as the show’s director and executive producer. The series will be based on the book of the same name by Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton. It will be a six-hour limited series centering around the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department’s Gun Trace Task Force, and the corruption that hit the city as mass arrests were praised instead of actual police work.
Jon Bernthal will play Sgt. Wayne Jenkins of the Baltimore Police Department. The plainclothes unit of the Gun Trace Task Force went rogue and started hunting and robbing citizens and drug dealers. Bernthal is mostly known for his roles in Netflix’s The Punisher, The Walking Dead, and The Wolf of Wall Street.
Hector will play Sean Suiter, a Baltimore City Homicide detective who gets called in to testify before a grand jury after getting caught up in the task force. Hector is known for his roles in The Wire, where he played drug kingpin, Marlo Stanfield.
Charles will play Daniel Hersl, a cop known in Baltimore for being a brutal police officer.
