Have a Movie Idea? AT&T Will Give You $1 Million to Film Your Next Movie

Date:

AT&T is looking to help aspiring filmmakers.

For the fourth year in a row, AT&T, Tribeca Film Festival and Tribeca Film Institute are looking for the best-unproduced movie with AT&T Presents: Untold Stories.

From AT&T Untold Stories:

“The aspiring filmmaker from an underrepresented community who impresses the Greenlight Committee of professionals will receive a $1 million grant, gain access to mentorship from industry leaders, premiere their film at the Tribeca Film Festival, and more including the opportunity for distribution on AT&T’s video services.”

“AT&T Presents: Untold Stories remains – after four years – one of the only programs out there that offers diverse, underrepresented filmmakers the chance to turn their vision into a feature-length film, premiere it at one of the world’s most popular film festivals and get it distributed,” says Fiona Carter, Chief Brand Officer,  AT&T Communications who serves as the Greenlight Committee chair. “That’s the power of AT&T, and why I am so  excited to work with Tribeca and these amazing filmmakers to bring audiences these stories.”

How to apply:

  • Submit a feature-length screenplay that could premiere within 12 months.
  • Complete one application that includes one full sample of your prior work. Applicants must have previous writing and/or directing experience. There is no entry fee to apply.
  • Applications will be screened to select up to 5 finalists who will pitch their untold stories live at the Tribeca Film Festival before our Greenlight Committee in April 2020.
  • We’ll pour over your work and pick our favorite in April 2020… and the rest is history (in the making).

Visit Tribeca Film Institute’s submission page to apply. Submissions are open from September 5th through November 5th
