VH1 is a U.S cable network based in New York City and owned by ViacomCBS. The channel was originally created to build on MTV's success by playing music videos targeted to an older demographic. VH1 later shifted gears and moved into reality TV shows, with a touch of music, celebrities, and pop-culture. Recently, VH1 has focused on targeting African-American audiences. VH1 is best known for franchises including Behind the Music, Flavor Flav reality shows, and Love & Hip Hop franchises. In 2016, the network reached over 90 million US households.
