Even though <strong>Toy Story 3</strong> had a near perfect ending for a blockbuster franchise, Disney's announced yesterday that<strong> <em>Toy Story 4 </em></strong>is currently in development and a scheduled release in June 2017. According to <a href="http://variety.com/2014/film/news/john-lasseter-to-direct-toy-story-4-out-in-2017-1201349848/">Variety</a>, the announcement was made during a meeting with Wall Street Analysts in what looks like a move to boost Disney's stock value. Which is probably a smart decision, Toy Story 3 made $1 billion worldwide in theaters, in addition to the $800 million the first two movies earned at the box office, so there is a pretty good chance that <em>Toy Story 4 </em>will exceed box office expectations.

<strong>John Lasseter</strong> directed the first Toy Story and co-directed <strong><em>Toy Story 2 </em></strong>with Lee Unkrich before leaving the franchise to work on the new <em><strong>Cars</strong> </em>series. John Lasseter is expected to return to the <strong>Toy Story</strong> franchise in <em><strong>Toy Story 4</strong></em>. Tim Allen, and Tom Hanks will most likely return to do the voiceovers in the upcoming sequel.

Woody and Buzz Lightyear Are Returning for 'Toy Story 5'

<h2><strong>Here's Why Tim Allen Didn't Voice Buzz in 'Lightyear' and Chris Evans was not a substitute.</strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Many fans grew up with the franchise, and animated characters are perplexed. Tim Allen was not called upon for his role as Buzz, given that Lightyear will debut on the 17th. When it was revealed that Chris Evans would be voicing Lightyear's younger Buzz, many fans were confused. He'd been the voice of the Space Ranger since 1995, when he first expressed Toy Story, and he continued to voice the character in numerous films with the IP until 2019's Toy Story 4 &mdash; that's almost 25 years.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The minor unrest stems from Allen's long association with the character and the fact that, unlike a typical film (outside of reboots and Easter eggs), actors cannot keep the character's image because of physical circumstances like age. No one had any reason to consider an entirely non-Tim Allen-voiced Buzz Lightyear. Galyn Susman, the producer of Lightyear, says: "Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear the toy. We weren't making a </span><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Toy Story</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;"> movie. We're making Buzz Lightyear's movie." This film is set in the Toy Story universe and stars Buzz Lightyear as a young cadet. This movie is supposed to be a "live-action" of Buzz Lightyear as a young cadet, rather than just a character from the franchise. Even Allen was forthright in acknowledging that he had not been "replaced" and that Lightyear is an entirely new motion picture.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to Lightyear director Angus MacLane, Allen's role was meant to be goofier than Lightyear's, where there are many more dramatic sequences in which someone like Evans is ideally suited for the task. "Tim's version of Buzz is a little goofier and is a little dumber, and so he is the comic relief. In this film, Buzz is the action hero. He's serious and ambitious and funny, but not in a goofy way that would undercut the drama. Chris Evans has the gravitas and that movie-star quality that our character needed to separate him and the movie from Tim's version of the toy in Toy Story."</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Evans has been grateful to play such an important character, and he's been nice to Buzz's work. He also claims that no one can "touch his (Allen's) performance." </span></p>

Why Tim Allen Didn't Voice Buzz in 'Lightyear'

<h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">&lsquo;Lightyear&rsquo; is unable to beat &lsquo;Jurassic World Dominion&rsquo;</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">What a surprise! Pixar and Disney&rsquo;s new movie &lsquo;Lightyear&rsquo; lost Father's Day weekend to holdover &lsquo;Jurassic World Dominion&rsquo; at the domestic box office.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hollywood's tent poles have been doing great business this year, with &lsquo;Top Gun: Maverick&rsquo; being the third major Hollywood film to do solid-to excellent box office. As a result of these successes and because overall revenue hit USD $166 million which is down only 18% from 2019, it isn't clear whether there has been enough recovery.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The &lsquo;Toy Story&rsquo; spinoff buzzed to a disappointing USD $51 million from 4,255 theaters. While that&rsquo;s not too bad for the COVID-19 era and it is still the biggest opening of an animated family film so far this year, it nevertheless underperformed considering how highly anticipated &lsquo;Lightyear&rsquo; was by fans.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Overseas, &lsquo;Lightyear&rsquo; took in $34.6 million from its first 43 markets for a global launch of USD $ 85 million. The movie isn&rsquo;t expected to be released in China and was banned in the Middle East because it contains same-gender kisses between two main characters.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Space Ranger is back and this time, he's got a brand new voice. Chris Evans takes over for Tim Allen in the origin tale of Buzz Lightyear.&nbsp;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is not the best Pixar offering, but it has its fans. The film currently sits at 78% on Rotten Tomatoes and audiences gave this one an A- CinemaScore which isn't too shabby considering how most animated movies usually fare in comparison to their live-action counterparts!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Universal and Amblin&rsquo;s &lsquo;Jurassic World Dominion&rsquo; continued to make history with its impressive No. 1 position at the domestic box office this past weekend, as it took home another USD $58 million from 4,679 locations for a 10-day total of USD $ 247 million. The movie now has worldwide earnings totaling over USD $ 600 million.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With a federal holiday honoring Juneteenth coming up, Monday may look more like Saturday and Sunday at the box office. Universal insiders believe that &lsquo;Jurassic World Dominion&rsquo; could hit up to USD $ 68 million in its four-day run.</span></p>

Box Office: 'Lightyear' Falls to 'Jurassic World: Dominion'

<h2><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/toy-story/">Toy Story 4</a> gets an official movie release date.</h2>
<p class="p1">There have been rumors since 2015 of a sequel to <i>Toy Story. </i>Now, Disney and Pixar have announced an official release date for the fourth installment of <i>Toy Story. </i></p>
<p class="p1">While the project has already experienced many director and writer changes, the script is finally in the hands of <i>Thor: Ragnarok </i>writer, Stephany Folsom.</p>
<p class="p1">Details surrounding the movie have not been released, however previous reports claimed the story will focus on the relationship between Woody and Bo Peep, who was missing from the last <i>Toy Story </i>movie.</p>
<p class="p1">The movie release for <i>Toy Story 4 </i>is set for June 21, 2019. Stay tuned for more information.</p>

'Toy Story 4' Hits Theaters in 2019

<h2>'Toy Story 4' will not follow the last film's story and will tell a brand new story.</h2>
Many people thought the Toy Story 3 was a perfect trilogy. But, last year it was leaked that a fourth <em>Toy Story </em>movie was in the works from Disney and Pixar. However, details surrounding the movie not been revealed and many people think it is a big mistake. Jim Morris, studio president revealed what we should expect in the <a href="http://blogs.disneylatino.com/disney-news/2014/12/16/jim-morris-revela-los-secretos-de-pixar/" target="_blank">Toy Story sequel</a>:
<blockquote>The third movie ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy. I think this movie is not part of this trilogy. It is a separate story, which in turn I do not know if will be continued. Never begin a project with that in mind.

It is not a continuation of the end of the story of <em>Toy Story 3</em>. Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. <strong>It will be a romantic comedy.</strong> It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. So the new <em>Toy Story </em>movie will focus less on kids growing up, and focus more on the toys themselves. This will be a major change from the previous Toy Story movies and it will be interesting to see if kids will enjoy a romantic comedy cartoon. But, at the end of the day you can't blame Disney's creative team for trying something new with the multi-million dollar franchise.

'Toy Story 4' Will Be a Romantic Comedy
