In a new PR movie, Mexico is trying to convince people to overlook the 100,000 people murdered in Mexico since 2006 in the country's brutal drug war.

A new report published by TaxAnalaysts.com revealed that MGM and Sony producers received up to $20 million in tax incentive in order to show Mexico in a brighter light in the latest James Bond movie, titled "Spectre." In return Mexico demanded changes to the movie's script and cast that would present the country in a positive light following the recent acts of violence sparked international outrage.

<blockquote>Included in Mexico's list of demands was the request that the villain be played by a non-Mexican actor, for the assassination target to be changed from the mayor of Mexico City to be an international official and that Mexican police were replaced by a "special force." In addition, officials also requested that a "known Mexican actress" be casted to play the "Bond girl." According to the <a href="http://www.latimes.com/world/mexico-americas/la-fg-mexico-james-bond-20150312-story.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Los Angeles Times</a>, Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman of the hit "Miss Bala" was announced as "Bond girl" Estrella.

Initially, Mexico was supposed to be featured only in the first few minutes of the movie. However the Mexican government was willing to give Sony $14 million in exchange for those changes. An additional $6 million offered to producers to replace a cage fighting scene with footage of Mexico's popular Day of the Dead holiday and highlighting Mexico City's "modern" skyline.

The report also states that then-Sony Chair Amy Pascal advised the filmmakers to "add whatever travelogue footage we need in Mexico to get the extra money."</blockquote>
But is this normal for a country to pay so much money to change a movie? <a href="http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2015/03/17/did-james-bond-sell-out-or-is-spectre-mexico-deal-business-as-usual/" target="_blank">Forbes</a> say this is business as usual.
<blockquote>You may think it&#146;s cynical that Mexico thinks that a&nbsp;single&nbsp;007 action scene is going to reverse years of negative publicity stemming from&nbsp;drug violence. But the notion that anything untoward has occurred is, I would argue, a little naive or perhaps looking for scandal where none exists. <strong>Considering that Hispanic-American women are a huge growing market in theatrical moviegoers, I think the only outrage here is that Sony &nbsp;presumably only cast a Mexican Bond girl&nbsp;for tax incentives.</strong></blockquote>

Mexico Paid James Bond 24 'Spectre' Producers $20 Million in Tax Breaks to Make Mexico Look Better

<h2>James Bond's&nbsp;<em>Spectre&nbsp;</em>is going to be the most expensive movie in history.</h2>
The upcoming <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/james-bond/" target="_blank">James Bond</a> movie,&nbsp;<em><strong><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/spectre/" target="_blank">SPECTRE</a>,</strong>&nbsp;</em>is working hard on trying to build upon the critical and box office successes of&nbsp;<em><strong>Skyfall. Skyfall</strong>&nbsp;</em>was produced on a $200 million budget and it was essentially worth it since the movie made $1.1 billion worldwide at the box office. Consequently, movie studios are working hard to land another huge payday. <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/sony-hack/" target="_blank">According to the recent leaks</a>,&nbsp;<em><strong><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/spectre/" target="_blank">SPECTRE</a></strong>&nbsp;</em>is on track to become one of the most expensive movies ever made, if not THE most expensive movie ever made.

According to emails and memos written by MGM President Jonathan Glickman, the budget for&nbsp;<em><strong>SPECTRE</strong>&nbsp;</em>is already at $300 million, and everyone involved in making the new <strong>James Bond</strong> movie is expected to save money during the actual filming process.
<blockquote>He says the current budget &#147;sits in the mid $300Ms,&#148; but the studio has to drastically cut back to $250 million. And the shooting period already costs $50 million more than the previous film, &#147;Skyfall.&#148;

His suggestions show some Hollywood tricks:

Villa in Rome? It&#146;s a nighttime scene, so try doing it in London instead.

There&#146;s fighting on a train! Again! But use fewer carriages &#151; three instead of four.

Forget the dramatic finale in the rain. It&#146;ll lower the cost of visual/special effects.

Earn an extra $6 million by showing &#147;the more modern aspects&#148; of Mexico to maximize &#147;the Mexican incentive.&#148; (The makers of Spectre are getting paid to film there.)

Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal, pointed out how quickly this movie is going to be insanely expensive, "It's insane and you know with no script this movie is gonna go overbudget."

It is hard to understand why a movie requires $300 million to film. Filmmakers must be using real bullets and paying for real hospital treatments and funeral services. Or, maybe it's the million dollar Aston Martin DB10, that was customized especially for&nbsp;<em><strong>SPECTRE.</strong>&nbsp;</em>But, it also doesn't help that the movie had several Land Rovers stolen.

New James Bond Movie is On Track to Be the Most Expensive Movie Ever

<h2>Blame Austin Powers for how serious James Bond movies have become, says current Bond, Daniel Craig.</h2>
The new James Bond movie, <em><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/spectre">Spectre</a>,</em> was announced on Thursday with several new cast members including Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Andrew Scott and Monica Bellucci. But, in a newly discovered interview with Daniel Craig from 2012, Craig reveals why James Bond movies have changed so much recently.

Myers’ groovy International Man of Mystery made fun of the Bond world’s biggest clichés. For example, the 1997 movie villain, Dr. Evil, was based on the Bond villain Dr. No. while other characters such as Random Task, Number 2, Frau Farbissina, and Basil Exposition also took inspiration from key Bond characters. In addition, James Bond being a womanizer was also laid to rest after the Austin Powers movies.

The new James Bond Movie, <strong><em>Spectre</em></strong> will centers Christoph Waltz who will play Oberhauser, a character who was Bond's ski-instructor and considered his second father.

<strong>Daniel Craig</strong> will return in the new 007, with <strong>Naomi Harris </strong>(Eve Moneypenny), <strong>Ben Whishaw</strong> (Q) and <strong>Ralph Fiennes</strong> (Gareth Mallory, later to become M) reprising their roles from 2012’s <em>Skyfall</em>.

Tanya Roberts, 60, played Stacey Sutton in the 1985 hit James Bond movie, <em>A View to Kill </em>with Roger Moore playing James Bond.

<h2>The James Bond franchise knows how to waste money on a feature film.</h2>
When the new James Bond movie <em>Spectre </em>comes out later this year, audiences will finally what it looks like to waste millions of dollars.

According to a <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3250449/Really-Bond-burned-24million-new-film-Spectre-just-blowing-cars.html" target="_blank">Daily Mail interview</a> with chief stunt coordinator Gary Powell, the new James Bond <em>Spectre </em>movie caused an <strong>estimated $36 million in car damage</strong> alone. Damn.

"We set the record for smashing up cars on 'Spectre,'" said Powell. "In Rome, we wrecked millions of pounds’ worth. They were going into the Vatican at top speeds of 110 mph. We shot one entire night for four seconds of film.”

The interview goes on to say that seven of the new Aston Martin DB10 sports cars, which were specifically design for <em>Spectre </em>where totally destroyed during filming. Ten of the custom DB10s, <a href="http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2014/12/james-bond-spectre-aston-martin" target="_blank">which were a collaboration</a> between Aston Martin design director Marek Reichman and "Spectre" director Sam Mendes, were made for this particular Bond movie.

James Bond Movie 'Spectre' Destroyed $36 Million in Cars

Spectacular opening scene...great that they used sooo many extras...I wonder what the got paid????

<h2>The opening sequence of James Bond's 'SPECTRE' hired over 1,500 extras - that's one hell of a cattle call.</h2>
Late last year, before the title and cast of the 24th James Bond movie were even announced in London, there were reports that the 'SPECTRE' movie was way over budget. That information seems legitimate because it came from the Sony Hack, following the North Korea computer hack. But nevertheless, production continued with director Sam Mendes and his star, Daniel Craig. Still, it makes you wonder, what made the movie go over budget so quickly. This new new video definitely shows how over-the-top the new James Bond movie will be.

Mendes says that he “wanted the audience to be dropped right into the middle of a very, very specific, very heady, rich environment,” referring to an incredibly authentic Day of the Dead festival that will serve as <em>SPECTRE</em>’s opening sequence. At the end of the day, 1,500 extras were brought in to bring this festival to life and each one of them had a unique costume designed and created by the staff featured in this video, which I assume cost well over a few million to produce.

James Bond's Opening Scene 'SPECTRE' Hired Over 1,500 Extras

<h2>Producers behind the James Bond franchise give all of their employees cell phone numbers ending in '007'.</h2>
At the end of every movie or TV show, producers typically give away a gift to the cast and crew. Many famous gifts include bicycles, shirts, hats but, James Bond's "007" took it to another level.

According to <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/james-bond-production-house-gives-802177">The Hollywood Reporter</a>, all Eon employees, the U.K. production company behind the James Bond franchise', are giving all of their employees a mobile number ending in "007".

<i><b>Spectre</b></i> will be the twenty-fourth <i>James Bond</i> film produced by Eon Productions. It will be the second film in the series directed by Sam Mendes and will feature Daniel Craig in his fourth performance as James Bond.

James Bond Producers Gave Employees Cell Phone Numbers Ending in "007"

<h2>Daniel Craig has surgery following an injury he suffered on the set of the upcoming James Bond movie.</h2>
Daniel Craig has had surgery on his knee a full two months after reportedly injuring himself during a fight scene for the next 007 movie, 'Spectre'.

According to the BBC, a spokesperson for the James Bond production company confirmed the actor had a "minor procedure" in New York while on break in filming over Easter.

From <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/daniel-craig-has-surgery-injury-786468" target="_blank">The Hollywood Reporter</a>:
<blockquote>"During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood," the spokesperson said.

The 47-year-old sprained his knee while shooting at London’s Pinewood Studios in early February, prompting former Bond, the 87-year-old <strong>Roger Moore</strong>, to offer to "step in" via Twitter.</blockquote>
