But, it's official. Actor Ricardo Medina has been charged with murder for allegedly killing his ex-roommate with a sword last year. He's currently in jail waiting for a bail hearing.

The <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/tag/los-angeles/">Los Angeles</a> Sheriff's department took Medina into custody on Thursday. The District Attorney is requesting a a $1 million bail for the actor as he awaits an arraignment on January 19 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Even though he was taken in for the murder back a year ago, Medina was let go after a court hearing because the case was rejected. At the time, the District Attorney's office said the incident was still being investigated and would consider charges in the future, according to <a href="http://deadline.com/2016/01/power-rangers-actor-murder-charge-ricardo-medina-la-da-1201683059/">Deadline</a>.

According to TMZ, <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2015/02/01/power-rangers-ricardo-medina-arrested-murder-sword/">Medina ran into his room</a> with his girlfriend but, Sutter forced his way into the bedroom and that's when Medina allegedly stabbed him once in the stomach with the sword.

When released from custody last February, Medina said, “I’m very, very, very sorry for what occurred. I’m very happy to be out of jail, and my heart goes out to the Sutter family.”

It is interesting to point out that this is not the first Power Rangers arrest. Walter Jones, who played the Black Ranger in the 1990s was arrested for a DUI seven years ago. In 2009, Skylar Deleon, another actor from the Power Rangers series was sentenced to death for murdering a couple on a yacht. All of this begs the question: Are the Power Rangers haunted?

Power Rangers Reboot Casting Call Leaks Online

<h2>The green ranger hates the new fan film of the Power Rangers.</h2>
A new short film featuring the popular power rangers has gone viral across the internet featuring James Van Der Beek from Dawson's Creek kicking butt and torturing the pink ranger. But, one Power Ranger in particular hates the new fan film. According to <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/power-rangers-green-ranger-actor-777984" target="_blank">reports</a>, Jason David Frank, the actor who played the Green Ranger in the&nbsp;Mighty Morphin Power Rangers&nbsp;series, posted a video to Facebook in which he criticizes the fan film.
<blockquote>"I know there's a lot of fans out there that love it and all that stuff, but I'm just a PG-13 guy," Frank said. "The cuss words, the drugs, all this other stuff &#151; it doesn't fly with me."

Frank said he was approached to appear in the short, but he declined, as he felt that the new take was too harsh for younger viewers. "The problem is that [Power Rangers is] still connected with adult and kids," he said. "You can't take a brand like this and reboot it so dark and gritty."</blockquote>
Frank is scheduled to appear in the upcoming official&nbsp;Power Rangers&nbsp;feature film, which is scheduled for release in 2016.

Green Ranger Hates the Viral 'Power Rangers' Fan Film

You have GOT to learn when to use commas. If you use a comma to set off the word "but," 95% of the time it goes BEFORE the word.  Ditto "since." And since I've never seen you use commas on those words correctly, figure 100% for you.

<h2>Ex-Power Ranger was released from jail after no charges were filed but, the district attorney requests a further investigation.</h2>
Former Power Ranger, Ricardo Medina Jr, who friends say fatally stabbed his roommate in self-defense was released from jail yesterday. But, the district attorney has requested a further investigation.

<blockquote>No charges were filed on Tuesday against former Power Ranger, Ricardo Medina Jr., and the district attorney has requested further investigation from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

"I want to say I am very, very, very sorry for what occurred. I'm very happy to be out of jail and my heart goes out to the Sutter family. Thank you," Medina said following his release.

The two men were involved in an argument, which turned into a fight. Medina told detectives that he had retreated to his bedroom with his girlfriend, but that Sutter barged in. Medina allegedly grabbed a sword that he kept by his bed and stabbed Sutter in the stomach.

"There simply aren't facts here for a crime. It is a self-defense case. It's been a self-defense case. You have an individual here that was the victim of a beating in the kitchen area before he went to the bedroom and closed and locked the door in order to secure himself from any continuing violence," said Allen Bell, Medina's attorney.

After Sutter collapsed, Medina called 911, stayed at the scene and waited for help. Sutter was taken to a hospital, where he later died, and Medina was booked on suspicion of murder at the Palmdale Sheriff's Station.</blockquote>
Family members of the victim say that it was not self defense since, Medina was an expert at martial arts and photos of the crime scene show no damage to the door to the room Medina was reportedly hiding in.
<blockquote>Kennedy doesn't believe Medina's claim that it was self-defense and says her brother was well aware Medina is an expert at martial arts.

"I just don't feel he would go and attack someone that he knows could take him down. Who does that? No one. He knew Rick's skills," Kennedy said.

Kennedy says she is mortified that her brother's killer was released without a single charge.

"He should absolutely pay for this one way or another," Kennedy said. "I won't give up, and I won't let my little brother's voice ever be stopped. I will speak for him and fight for him forever."</blockquote>

Power Ranger Released from Jail After No Charges Filed

<h2>Former star of Power Rangers Samurai was arrested for 'murdering roommate with a sword'.</h2>
Ricardo Medina Jr, 37, allegedly stabbed his roomate in the stomach on Saturday. The actor played the Red Ranger on TV but was arrested today after killing Joshua Sutter. Sheriffs say that the two engaged in an argument and Medina pulled out a sharp weapon stabbing his roommate in the stomach.

Ricardo Medina Jr, was arrested in Palmdale, California, Saturday and charged with killing Joshua Sutter by stabbing him in the abdomen with the sharp weapon. Medina, who reportedly called 911 himself, was taken into custody by the LA County Sherriff's Department, according to a report on TMZ.

Sutter was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. According to local station <a href="http://abc7.com/news/man-fatally-stabbed-roommate-with-sword-in-green-valley/499910/">ABC7</a>, the fight took place around 3:50pm.
Ricardo Medina who played the Red Ranger in 2002's Power Rangers Wild Force series before appearing in the Samurai movie, had been fleeing Sutter when the stabbing took place.
He allegedly ran into his girlfriend's room after an argument broke out between the men.
When Sutter forced his way in, the report says, Medina lashed out fatally with his sword.
His bail has been set at one million dollars.

According to Deadline, Lionsgate is teaming with Saban Brands to bring the Power Rangers back to the big screen for a potential new television franchise.

The first Power Rangers movie made $66 million dollars in the box office with a 15 million dollar budget. But, the 1997's Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie did horribly in the box office. So, this may be a bigger challenge to becoming a hit than it might look. But, with the recent success of Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles it might be possible.

'Power Rangers' Reboot is Coming Soon to Theaters

<h2 class="p1">Actor Jason David Frank has died at the age of 49.</h2>
Frank, born in Covina, California, was famous for his acting roles in the original Mighty Morphing&rsquo; Power Rangers TV series from the early 90s. In the show, he played the leading hero Tommy Oliver, initially introduced as the Green Ranger in season 1. As the storyline progressed, he became the White Ranger. In total, he appeared in 145 episodes.
Frank was also featured in hit TV shows as Family Matters and Sweet Valley High. Outside of Hollywood, Frank was a professional mixed martial artist. He was a certified MMA fighter fluent in Judo, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and many more fighting styles. His fighting career lasted from 2008 to 2010.&nbsp;
While his cause of death has not been formally announced, multiple reports suggest Frank died by suicide. eps of his have commented on the incident and stated, &ldquo;Unfortunately, it is true. Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed.&rdquo;

'Power Rangers' Actor Jason David Frank Died at 49

Power Ranger, Jason David Frank who played the original Green Ranger, was started in a murder plot at Phoenix Comic Con.
According to reports, a heavily-armed man, identified as 31-year-old Matthew Sterling, arrived at the convention on Thursday claiming to be “The Punisher”. His plan was to killer numerous “bad cops” as wells the original Green Ranger, who was appearing at the comic con.
Thankfully, he was caught by police before anyone was hurt.
According to a police statement, that would-be-attacker has since been charged with attempted murder, three counts of aggravated assault, wearing body armor during the commission of a felony, resisting arrest, and carrying a weapon in a prohibited place.
Court records revealed that Matthew Sterling was carrying two 45-caliber handguns, a .454 caliber handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun, a combat knife, pepper spray, and throwing stars at the time of the arrest.
Why would he want to kill the Green Ranger? Currently, it is unclear. Sterling says that he attempted to stab Frank in the past. 
“I don’t know this individual, but I will pray for him,” said Frank in an interview with <a href="http://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/arizona-news/257213868-story">Fox News</a>, adding that the alleged stabbing never took place. “I think if you mention ‘stabbed,' and I haven’t been stabbed, the story speaks for itself.”
After the incident, Jason David Frank issued a statement to his fans.
“You will start hearing stuff on social media,” he explained. “I’m fine. I’m okay. Love y’all… Things could’ve been worse. But it wasn’t. You know everyone is safe, things are okay, and it’s a great thing.”
Frank appeared in the original “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” as the Green Ranger, and recently made a cameo appearance in the recent Power Rangers reboot.

Power Rangers Actor Targeted for an Attack at Comic-Con

Lionsgate’s Power Rangers was well praised by critics. Thanks to the movies storyline, acting, and ability to connect with five teenagers allowed for a movie to thrive in the box office.
That said, some people didn't really like the movie including two of the original Power Rangers. In fact, the original blue and black Power Rangers, David Yost and Walter Jones, held a panel at Chicago’s C2E2 convention explained their distaste for the movie.
Jones explained that the movie didn’t reveal the black Power Ranger’s signature fighting style: Hip Hop Kido. Because the black Power Ranger is a big danger he always enjoyed taking out his enemies with elements of dance. However, for the movie that fighting technique was cut.

“I was a little disappointed that they changed the characters around a little bit because I wanted Zach to be with his kido because Hip Hop Kido was a really important element of who I was on 'Power Rangers'. I think if they would have added that then there could have been some parkour and there could have been so many other elements to that character that it would have been awesome.”

David Yost didn’t really like the how the movie used the catch phrase “It’s Morphin Time”. According to him, it didn’t generate any excitement like it did in the show.

"The only thing I care about progression wise when they do a sequel and they morph they better bring it and they better say 'It’s Morphin Time.' When we said, 'It’s morphing time!,' it was like, 'Shit’s about to go down;' when they said it in the movie it was so lackadaisical I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’”

In addition, Jones didn’t feel like the villains had any personality. 
“I want to see some of the villains have voices or more voices. Like in the 'Power Rangers' [Television Series] the villains were from outer space or aliens but they had voices and personalities. I hope that the villains grow to have more definite personalities”

Two of the Original Power Rangers Didn't Like the Power Rangers Reboot

<h2>Power Rangers star is facing 26 years in prison for allegedly stabbing his roommate with a sword.</h2>
Last year, it was reported that Power Rangers Wild Force star Ricardo Medina Jr. had been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his roommate Joshua Sutter with a sword. The case is still moving forward, with Medina facing up to 26 years in prison if found guilty.

Shortly after his initial arrest and release in 2015, Medina told <a href="http://abc7.com/news/ex-power-ranger-released-from-jail-after-no-charges-filed/502465/" rel="noopener noreferrer">ABC7</a>:
<blockquote>"I want to say I am very, very, very sorry for what occurred. I’m very happy to be out of jail and my heart goes out to the Sutter family. Thank you."</blockquote>
Medina, who is known for playing the Red Lion Wild Force Ranger in the early 200s show Power Rangers Wild Force, has pled not guilty, is reportedly working on a case with his attorney to prove that the killing was in self defense.

While the news is so heartbreaking to see a childhood icon involved in something so horrific, fans can do nothing but watch from the sidelines.

Former 'Power Ranger' Faces 26 Years in Prison

<h2>Lionsgate is planning on expanding their Power Rangers franchise.</h2>
If you were excited about the upcoming Power Rangers movie, then I have some really good news for you. Lionsgate is planning on creating seven additional Power Rangers movies. Following the end of the Hunger Games franchise, Lionsgate has struggled to find a new film franchise to rake in the big bucks in the box office. Luckily for Lionsgate, there are the Power Rangers. In fact, in a recent meeting with stock holders, the studio said they are planning to make "five, six or seven" movies from the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers team.

That's a ton of movies. The first Power Rangers movie hits theaters on March 24, 2017.
