Watch Latest 'X-Men Days of Future Past' Movie Clip [VIDEO]

Peter Dinklage, an actor from the HBO series "Game of Thrones," will portray Casca Highbottom in the forthcoming Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, according to Deadline.
In the film, Dinklage will appear in scenes with Rachel Zegler and Tom Blyth, both of whom have been cast as Lucy Gray Baird and young Coriolanus Snow. Hunter Schafer will also appear in the movie as Tigris Snow, the cousin of Coriolanus Snow.
&ldquo;With production underway, we couldn&rsquo;t be more excited about how this cast has come together and thrilled to be welcoming Peter Dinklage to Panem,&rdquo; Nathan Kahane, president of Lionsgate&rsquo;s Motion Picture Group, said in a statement. &ldquo;Peter is not just a fan favorite actor who brings a commanding presence to every part he plays. He is one of the best actors alive. He will bring a formidable, charismatic authority to the important role of the dean of the Academy.&rdquo;
The movie will center on an 18-year-old Snow, many years prior to his tyrannical stint as President of Panem, according to an official logline. &ldquo;With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, the girl tribute from impoverished District 12,&rdquo; the description reads. &ldquo;But, after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem&rsquo;s attention by defiantly singing during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor.&rdquo;
Producer Nina Jacobson and director Brad Simpson will return for the prequel, along with director Francis Lawrence, who directed three of the four Hunger Games films &mdash; Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part One, and Mockingjay Part Two.
Dinklage&rsquo;s Casca Highbottom, who is the dean of the Academy in the film, &ldquo;is one of the most powerful people in Snow&rsquo;s life,&rdquo; according to Lawrence. &ldquo;As the austere and vindictive face of the games, he sets the rules that will determine every aspect of Coriolanus&rsquo;s fate,&rdquo; the director added. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m thrilled that Peter will be bringing him to life.&rdquo;On November 17, 2023, the third and final installment of The Hunger Games franchise will be released. It is tentatively titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Casting News: Peter Dinklage to Appear in The Hunger Games Prequel

<h2><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/peter-dinklage/">Peter Dinklage</a> reveals how working on TV improved his <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/tag/acting-tips/">acting</a> skills</h2>
Peter Dinklage was a great actor before he started to become praised for his role on HBO’s Game of Thrones. He was known for his performances in 2003’s The Station Agent and 2007’s Death at a Funeral before he ever auditioned for play Tyrion Lannister.
However, in an interview with Vulture, Dinklage revealed that acting on a TV show helped him improve his acting skills by making his craft seem more like a regular 9 to 5.

“One of the best things I can say about being on a TV show is that it makes you a better actor. It takes away the preciousness; it makes you see acting as work. You’re getting up, you’re delivering, you’re telling a story, you’re a piece of a whole, and it’s not about some self-involved process. It’s about being prepared, saying your lines, and stripping away all the bullshit artifice. It’s like acting as carpentry: Put that beam up; put that nail in. I love that approach.”

Peter Dinklage Reveals How 'Game of Thrones' Improved His Acting Skills

<h2><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/peter-dinklage/">Peter Dinklage</a> opens up about being famous in <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/hollywood/">Hollywood</a> and how opportunities have changed for dwarf actors.</h2>
Peter Dinklage plays one of the most famous little actors of all time Hervé Villechaize in HBO Films' My Dinner with Hervé. Villachaize is best known for playing Tattoo on Fantasy Island and in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dinklage discusses how things have changed for small actors since Villachaize's death in 1993.

Dinklage admits the hardest part of playing Villachaize was keeping up with the actor's energy. He explains, “Hervé lived pretty hard and I had to match his energy. And during a lot of the film, he doesn’t feel physical very well at all. So it was those two things. He’s such a complicated man. He was such a bright light and everybody around him loved him so dearly. But he burned too brightly. Obviously, it’s a common tragedy in Hollywood. But he lived much longer than anybody expected him too. He was also in a tremendous amount of pain due to his dwarfism, both physical and spiritual, and he just couldn’t take it anymore.”

When asked if he believed that little actors have more opportunities now, Dinklage says, "I would like to think so. I try to be optimistic about it. I never really set out to change the parameters of casting. I just like good writing. The fame thing for me is a little hard. I don’t enjoy it… But yes, I’d like to think more opportunities are out there, but cynically it’s hard to speak to it without sounding like I’m not being critical of somebody else’s choices. I just know what I want in my career and I respect the choices of actors who are my size, or not, make. And I understand bills have to be paid. But it does perpetuate things. Not to get too political about it, but it’s a stereotype that still exists. Dwarf tossing still exists. There are still people of my size dressing up as elves at Christmas time. And if everybody continues to do that, then it won’t stop. But my daughter doesn’t think I’m a mythical creature. Unicorns don’t exist, but I do. It’s tricky, what we put out there, to perpetuate for future generations.”

Peter Dinklage Reveals What It's Like to Be a Dwarf Actor in Hollywood

<h2><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/peter-dinklage/">Peter Dinklage</a> says he is ready for <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/game-of-thrones/">Game of Thrones</a> to end.</h2>
Game of Thrones fans have known that the end of the series was near, even if they were not ready to leave the franchise. But at least one of the actors says it is the right time to end the show.
“Yeah, it’s time. Storywise, not just for all our lives,” <a href="https://www.huffingtonpost.com/topic/peter-dinklage">Peter </a>D<a href="https://www.huffingtonpost.com/topic/peter-dinklage">inklage</a> told Variety. “It’s the perfect timing to end it.”
Dinklage, who has won two Emmys and a Golden Globe for playing Tyrion Lannister, called the upcoming ending “bittersweet” and a “sad part of our business.” Yet he indicated that it was better for a show to go out while it was still on top.
“Sometimes shows stay on a little too long, the jumping-the-shark thing,” he said.
Peter Dinklage is currently attending the Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of his new movie I Think We’re Alone Now. The movie also stars Elle Fanning and was directed by Reed Morano.

Actor Peter Dinklage Says He's Ready for 'Game of Thrones' To End

One can only hope her mouth will not constantly utter foul words with abusive language; and that the role will equal her actual acting talent. She can act but her choice of roles seem to center around being overweight, abusive and just plain bad mouthing.  You know, Hollywood, just because a woman is obese does not mean she utters nothing but foul words and has a chip on her shoulder.  THAT is discrimination.

I didn't think the show was doing that bad but bringing on Melissa will certainly end the show for good.

According to <a href="http://variety.com/2015/film/news/peter-dinklake-michelle-darnell-casting-melissa-mccarthy-1201407638/">Variety</a>, Peter Dinklage (<a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/game-of-thrones/" target="_blank">Game of Throne</a>s) has decided to join Melissa McCarthy in the upcoming Unviersal comedy "Michelle Darnell".
<blockquote>While details are vague on what the role is, sources say Dinklage would be playing the antagonist in the pic. Universal has gone back and forth on whether the role should be a male or female, caring more about a landing a star who can chew up every scene he or she is in. The studio had also considered Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm and even Oprah Winfrey for the role.</blockquote>
"Michelle Darnell" centers around a titan of industry who is sent to prison after she's caught for insider trading. When she emerges she is ready to rebrand herself as America's latest sweetheart, and not every is so quick to forgive and forget.
