"ALL" Sci-Fi Feature Film Casting

The indie film company Unclaimed Freight Productions is gearing up to start shooting the true story film "CBGB The Movie" in Savannah, GA and New York beginning on June 25, 2012. The casting director in Savannah is holding an open casting call seeking people interested in working on the film. They are looking for all types with a focus on music lovers, musicians, motorcyclists, 70′S car owners, &amp; people with a 70′s look. Email submissions are also being accepted.

"CBGB The Movie" tells the real-life story of Hilly Kristal who dreamed of having a club on the lower Eastside that catered to Country, Bluegrass and Blues music (thus the name of the club "CBGB"). When he had difficulty booking those genre of bands, he opened his doors to the acts that other venues had rejected. Living on the couch in the back of the club for the first two years, Hilly could barely make ends meet. Nevertheless, he had one demand of the acts he booked - they must agree to perform their own original music. No top 40’s, no covers. The club became known as the starting point for the careers of such punk rock and New Wave acts as The Ramones, Talking Heads, Patti Smith, Television, and Blondie.

The film has a great starring cast that includes two "Harry Potter" alumni - Golden Globe winner Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristal, and Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome who achieved fame as a guitarist for Rocket From the Tombs and the punk rock band, The Dead Boys. Malin Akerman is playing Debbie Harry of Blondie; Stana Katic portrays Genya Ravan the former lead singer of The Escorts, Goldie &amp; the Gingerbreads, and Ten Wheel Drive.

On Thursday at the premiere of Season 3 for "Truth Be Told," Gabrielle Union - who starred as Isis in 2000's cult classic "Bring It On" &ndash; hinted a new installment of this cherished cheerleading movie franchise might be on its way!

"We've been developing a sequel forever," Union told Variety. "But for folks who don't exactly understand how long development can take in Hollywood, that could be five minutes or 50 years."&nbsp;
Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku, and Jesse Bradford's iconic movie "Bring It On" skyrocketed their fame into the stratosphere. The film spawned five direct-to-video sequels as well as a Halloween-themed TV sequel but without any of its original cast members. This was Union's launchpad to success in television and cinema for many years to come - cementing her place among Hollywood elites with films like "Love &amp; Basketball."
Octavia Spencer stars as Poppy, an investigative journalist turned true-crime podcaster, in Season 3 of Apple TV+'s "Truth Be Told." Joined by Gabrielle Union's Eve, a principal with unorthodox methods, they work together to keep missing Black girls at the forefront. The anthology series, starring, and executive produced by Spencer is based on Kathleen Barber's novel "Are You Sleeping."&nbsp;&nbsp;
Union and Spencer have been friends for well over two decades. Union shared with Variety.
"We met on a show called 'City of Angels.' We kind of bonded over this really long-ass scene that I kept messing up," Union said. "I had to say 'pumping epinephrine'&hellip; We would just crack up all day long&hellip; She's one of the few people in this town who is exactly who you think."&nbsp;
Spencer welcomed Union aboard "Truth Be Told" this season.
"Day one on set, we hit the ground running. She is all about getting the work done, creating great art," Spencer said. "And she brought advocacy. She's Gabrielle Union. She has a big presence, and we're thrilled to have her on the show."
Mekhi Phifer, David Lyons, Ron Cephas Jones, Merle Dandridge, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, Mychala Faith Lee, and Tami Roman all make their presence felt in Season 3.
Nichelle Tramble Spellman, the former showrunner of the series, is now exclusively executive producing due to other commitments, as she revealed to Variety. As someone who personally knew Maisha Closson and had wanted her on staff for past seasons, Spellman appointed her with the role of showrunner for season 3. Alongside Spellman and Closson, Reese Witherspoon, Spencer Peter Cherin, Lauren Neustadter, Jenno Topping, Mikkel Norgaard, and Brian Clisham are all instrumental executive producers on the project.

Gabrielle Union Hints at the Possibility of a New "Bring It On" Movie

<h2>Tom Hanks as Geppetto in the upcoming Disney+ live-action adaptation of 'Pinocchio.</h2>
The remake of 1940 animated classic Pinocchio, which was previously announced with a release date of July 29, has revealed a preview of Tom Hanks in the title role.

The story of Pinocchio is about a puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy. Geppetto's love and care for Pinocchio are tested as the puppet gets into one scrape after another. Along with Hanks, the cast of the film includes Robert Downey Jr., who will play Geppetto's arch-nemesis, the Blue Fairy; Angelina Jolie as the voice of villainous Lady Tremaine; and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Pinocchio.
Hanks will play Geppetto, the childless woodworker who creates Pinocchio. In contrast to the Geppetto in the original film, Hanks' version has glasses and wavy hair, but still sports a grey mustache. A non-animated Pinocchio, who is similarly drawn to the animated version with the yellow cap and red feather, pointy nose, and red apparel, can be seen in Disney's first peek.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who plays the lead in The Haunting of Bly Manor, will provide his voice to bring Pinocchio to life in the film. Robert Zemeckis will direct the picture, which he co-wrote with Chris Weitz and also co-wrote.
Disney+ has been gaining a lot of traction lately with its announcements of new live-action remakes of classic Disney movies. With Hanks in the Geppetto role, this new Pinocchio film is sure to be a hit.

[ARLETTA] Caucasian Female. She has a 22 year old son. An aging beauty who dresses a little too young for her age, she is Kermit's widowed mother. Now back in the dating scene, Arletta has known her share of hard times, sometimes forced to do things she's not proud of to stay afloat. A decent woman, and a concerned mother, she's happy to have Kermit home again, warning him not to hang with his old running buddies anymore. Later, when Kermit fails to come home one evening, she's convinced something bad has gone down...LEAD

[BILLY] A young hotshot, he is Kermit's best friend and partner in crime, a punk who's always made his way by scamming or doing something illegal. He tells Kermit, who's looking to stay straight, "You all rehabilitated and s--t. What you gonna do for money?" He's eager to get Kermit back working his jobs with him He should be a little soft (inf appearance), earnest and naive...LEAD

[LARRY PRETTY] Caucasian Male. 40s to late 50s. He is the manager of a strip club, a smarmy opportunist, in a brown suit, bolo tie, cowboy hat and diamond pinky ring, also a toothpick in his mouth. He's described by Arletta as a "bad man... the source of a lot of hurt." He used to take advantage of Arletta, now grooming a nervous Rachel to be one of his dancers/strippers, also hoping she'll get into prostitution, because those "girls make real money." Later, Pretty Larry gets his comeuppance...LEAD

[C.J.] Caucasian and super-skinny, he is one of Kermit's old running buddies, grateful that Kermit never ratted him out, sparing him a jail sentence. In his herringbone-chain necklace, gold bracelet and Affliction t-shirt, C.J. looks ruthless. He seduces Kermit back into a life of crime...LEAD

[RANDY FAIRCLOTH] A bit of an unpredictable eccentric, he is Kermit's uncle, dressed in leather pants and a t-shirt. His hair is styled in a pompadour and he has a pencil thin mustache, and a cross earring dangling from his left ear. Randy has been arrested for counterfeiting small bills and operates a moonshine still. He's also pretty handy when it comes to fixing cars. A former champion boxer, Randy proves to be surprisingly gracious when Billy asks him about some money he owes.

[T-REX] Mexican Male, with a thin mustache and jeans tucked into his cowboy boots, he is a guy not to be messed with. A drug dealer, T-Rex is on a savage dude, fair but terrifying.

[FLAVOR] Mexican, he is a long-haired gangster who works for T-Rex. Impatient, with a perverse sense of humor, he urges Kermit to share his story about why he got back into a life of crime, increasingly interested in where the tale is going. Flavor soon realizes that Kermit used to make runs for one of T-Rex's competitors. He's not about to mess things up by killing Kermit and the thugs eventually let Kermit go.

[CLAY] Early 20s, a preppy fraternity type, with red hair, wearing khaki pants, a blue oxford shirt, Sperry Top-Siders, and a Vanderbilt University visor, he is a childhood friend of Kermit. Upscale, recently engaged, he introduces his girlfriend to Kermit, later telling her that Kermit is has changed and is now "completely crazy.".

[FRESH-FACED COP] This fresh-faced cop pulls over a nervous Kermit whose driving seems erratic. He tries to reason with Kermit who pulls a gun on him, then is completely dumbfounded and horrified by Kermit's reaction to the situation.

[VINES] He is an older correctional officer in aviator sunglasses, and carrying a shotgun. Gruff, with a dry sense of humor, he's sorry to see Kermit getting paroled, since he's the "best hole-diggin' man I got.".

[CHICKEN SHACK EMPLOYEE] He/she is a very pleasant counter person at a 24-hour chicken place, seemingly oblivious to Kermit's edgy nervousness.

[GIL] He is a younger correctional officer in a brimmed trooper hat. Gil is a tobacco-chewing, good-humored good ole boy, impressed by Kermit's work ethic while doing time.

[MAMA] Mature female. She is overweight / heavy set. Dying of cancer, and not looking very well, she is Rachel's needy yet grateful mother.

[JORGE] A Mexican kid with fresh tight hair fade, he is one of Kermit's homeboys who picks him up when he get out of prison.

[JACKSON] Seen reading a "Soldier of Fortune Magazine," he is the front desk guy at the strip club.

[WAITRESS] She is a waitress at the strip club, wearing a bustier, a bow tie and white shirt cuffs.

[RESTLESS REDNECK #1 &amp; #2] These two rednecks in the the strip club are getting impatient with Rachel's pathetic routine.

[DJ] This DJ at the strip club introduces the acts. Let us know if you have any real DJ experience please.

[TEX &amp; RODEO CLOWN] They are a pair of drunk rodeo cowboys in the strip club.

[MIDDLE-AGED MAN] This middle-aged male customer in the Dairy Dip is scared when Kermit shoots him a threatening look.

[BOBBIE] He/she is the counter person at the Dairy Dip.

[ASHLEY] She is Clay's preppy looking fiancee..

[KNUCKLEHEAD #1 &amp; #2] They are a pair of Mexican thugs who work for T-Rex. Must speak Spanish.

[OTHER MEXICAN] This Mexican thug is listening to Kermit's sob story. Must speak Spanish.

[CHICKEN SHACK COP] This cop with a jet black mustache is waiting to use the restroom at the Chicken Shack.

[TRUCK DRIVER] He is a overweight truck driver being given a lap dance by Rachel.

'Dixieland' Movie Open Casting Call for Speaking Roles in Mississippi

John Legend is holding a unique casting call for the upcoming feature film 'Breaking Through'. John Legend has teamed up with Madonna and together they are seeking dancers to work on his new movie 'Breaking Through'.

John Legend's  Movie 'Breaking Through' Open Casting Call for Dancers

According to recent <a href="http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-samuel-l-jackson-replacing-jamie-foxx-black-phantom-20140806-story.html" target="_blank">reports</a>, the critically acclaimed fan favorite actor, Samuel L. Jackson is expected to replace Jamie Foxx in "The Black Phantom".

The Pulp Fiction star would play a feared assassin opposite of Kevin Hart in the action comedy. Jamie Foxx was attached to the role but left following scheduling conflicts.

Tim Story, the director of "Ride Along," "Think Like a Man Too" will direct, "Black Phantom". The upcoming major motion picture centers on a mob hit man, played by Kevin Hart who is double-crossed but then enlists the guy sent to kill him (Samuel L. Jackson) to help him get revenge.

Samuel L. Jackson has had a long history and fruitful career in Hollywood. Starting from his iconic role in "Pulp Fiction" he has become a staple in the Marvel Avenger series. He is expected to appear on Quentin Tarantino's next feature film "The Hateful Eight" later on this year.
