After an extensive period of nearly 150 days, Hollywood studios have finally reached a preliminary accord with the Writers Guild of America for a fresh contract. Unless unexpected objections arise from WGA members, the writer's segment of the Hollywood strike is effectively concluded.
So, when can viewers expect their beloved shows to return to screens? And when will highly anticipated films resume production?
The concise response is as soon as feasibly possible. WGA members have consistently expressed their eagerness to reoccupy the writers' rooms. Concurrently, the studios, represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers in guild negotiations, have incurred significant financial losses during the strike and need prompt production revival to mitigate these losses.
However, specific prerequisites must be fulfilled before this revival can occur, commencing with the contract's ratification.
In the coming days, the precise terms of the deal will be formalized in official documentation. Subsequently, the WGA Negotiating Committee will conduct a vote to decide on recommending and transmitting the agreement to the guild's board for approval. This vote is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.
Following the acquisition of the contract, guild leaders will disseminate it among members for a ratification vote. While the guild has not disclosed a specific timeline for this vote, it must allow members sufficient time to scrutinize the contract before casting their votes.
It is worth noting that guild leaders may opt to lift the restraining order and conclude the strike on a specific yet undetermined date and time, pending ratification. According to the WGA, this would enable writers to return to work during the ratification vote without impeding the membership's right to decide on contract approval.
Writers are advised not to resume work until duly authorized by the guild.
Another factor adding complexity is the ongoing strike by SAG-AFTRA since July 13, which the WGA has pledged to support until its resolution.
As of the latest update, the actors' guild and studios still need to set a date for resuming negotiations. However, insiders suggest that recommencing talks with the actors has been a priority for some studios, especially when discussions with the WGA encountered obstacles.
Given that actors and writers struck for similar reasons, the guild will likely secure a deal on terms akin to the WGA at the earliest opportunity.
One of the final points of contention between WGA and AMPTP centered on safeguarding members who prefer to wait until SAG-AFTRA resolves before returning to work. Or, as articulated in a memo to WGA members in early August, to "honor other unions' picket lines as they have honored ours during this strike."
The specifics of the deal still need to be disclosed. Notably, the WGA suspended its picket lines on Sunday but encouraged members to join SAG-AFTRA pickets until the guild issues authorization to resume work.
Regarding late-night programming, the timeline remains somewhat uncertain, but viewers can anticipate figures like Meyers, Fallon, and Colbert to be among the first to resume work. These hosts were some of the quickest to halt production and could be among the first to restart. However, the exact timeline will be determined by each show. Nevertheless, in August, a knowledgeable source hinted that late-night shows could be operational within as little as two weeks.
Representatives for these programs have yet to respond to TheWrap's request for comment.
The scripted series will likely be the last to return to screens. While writers can begin crafting new scripts, television shows rely on actors to resume work. IN AUGUST, former NBC Studios president Tom Nunan suggested that the most optimistic scenario would be to have network shows back in production in January.
Insiders, however, posit that this timeline could be expedited. "Law &amp; Order: SVU" showrunner Warren Leight outlined a potential path on social media that would enable 13-episode seasons of scripted series to proceed if the strike concluded by October. Leight proposed that once hired, writers would require less than the customary five to six weeks lead time to initiate the season since they'd be producing only 13 episodes. Furthermore, he noted that if everyone agreed to a one-week Christmas break instead of the usual two weeks of unpaid leave, productions might manage to shoot five episodes before the new year.
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav also expressed optimism this month, affirming during an investor conference in early September that "as soon as these strikes are resolved, everybody is ready to get back to work."
Nonetheless, it should be underscored that SAG still needs to secure its deal. Without actors, no scripted series can recommence. Michelle Hurd, "Star Trek: Picard" actress and the Los Angeles VP of the actors' guild, elucidated in August that there was minimal likelihood of SAG reentering negotiations before the WGA resolved.
"The bottom line is that we can't go back into negotiations until they agree with the WGA," Hurd stated. "So this makes it, you know, as long as there's actual true good faith bargaining happening, then that path to us getting back is closer because they're at that table."

When Will Production Resume After WGA Deal?

With the Writers Guild's strike poised to conclude following a tentative agreement, attention now shifts to SAG-AFTRA. At the same time, IATSE and the American Federation of Musicians await their turns on the negotiation stage.
The subsequent contracts under scrutiny belong to the American Federation of Musicians: the Basic Theatrical Motion Picture and Basic Television Motion Picture Agreements, slated to expire on November 14. Negotiation dates with the AMPTP are pending.
Unlike the Directors Guild, which secured a contract without resorting to a strike on June 3, the WGA, engaged in a strike since May 2, rejected the industry's customary "pattern bargaining" practice, where the subsequent union in line typically mirrors the preceding deal.
With the WGA achieving terms arguably superior to the DGA after 146 days of picketing, SAG-AFTRA may view this agreement not as a strict pattern but as a foundational model. This framework could address many of SAG-AFTRA's demands, including enhanced wages, innovative streaming residual calculations, and protections against potential artificial intelligence-related abuses.
This juncture may be a fresh starting point when SAG-AFTRA's negotiations recommence. While the leaders expressed readiness to return to the table since the actors' strike commenced on July 14, SAG-AFTRA harbors unique concerns, such as minimum staffing and employment duration in TV writers' rooms, kept from the DGA or WGA contracts.
One pressing issue for actors pertains to self-taped auditions, which became widespread during the COVID-19 pandemic. SAG-AFTRA contends that these auditions lack regulation and oversight, posing an undue burden on performers' lives. They advocate for reasonable guidelines, broader access to alternative casting methods, and protections against exploitation.
Before the strike, both sides tentatively agreed to numerous self-taping rules, addressing technical requisites and other concerns. While SAG-AFTRA continues to push for further protections, these prior agreements could serve as a basis for future negotiations unless the companies adopt a rigid stance, dismissing them post-strike.
The WGA's success in mitigating potential AI abuses may provide a blueprint for SAG-AFTRA to tackle similar threats to performers. However, SAG-AFTRA asserts that the AMPTP failed to address critical concerns, potentially jeopardizing performers' roles adequately.
Finances, encompassing wages and residuals, remain challenging, with SAG-AFTRA advocating for an 11% pay increase in the initial contract year. Nevertheless, the prolonged work hiatus may have offset substantial portions of this increment.
After the actors' strike concludes, the AMPTP will face negotiations with IATSE in the coming year. IATSE members, who have stood in solidarity with striking actors and writers, have incurred significant losses in terms of wages and employer contributions to their pension and health plans. Whether this hardship will culminate in a more assertive stance or a reluctance to strike again remains uncertain.
In the interim, WGA members must ratify their new agreement. The Ellen Stutzman-led WGA negotiating committee is slated to vote on the agreement's recommendation for approval by the WGAW Board and WGAE Council in votes tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.
While the first casualties of the WGA strike, late-night comedy and daytime talk shows, are set to return promptly due to their exclusion from SAG-AFTRA's ongoing strike, films and scripted TV shows without Interim Agreements with SAG-AFTRA will remain in limbo until the strike's resolution.

Post-WGA Agreement: What's Next?

<h2>SAG-AFTRA Extends Congratulations to WGA on Tentative Agreement, Calls on Studios to Resume Negotiations with Actors.</h2>
SAG-AFTRA, a staunch supporter of the writers throughout the WGA strike, wasted no time applauding the guild's recent achievement in securing a tentative deal.
In an official statement, the union affirmed its ongoing strike stance and urged the AMPTP to re-engage with the actors at the negotiating table to hash out the essential terms for its members.
"SAG-AFTRA commends the WGA for reaching a tentative agreement with the AMPTP following an impressive 146 days of unwavering determination and unity on the picket lines. While we anticipate reviewing the specifics of the WGA and AMPTP's tentative accord, we remain steadfast in our commitment to securing the requisite conditions for our members," the statement emphasized.
"From the inception of the WGA strike, SAG-AFTRA members have stood shoulder to shoulder with the writers on the picket lines. We continue our strike action under our TV/Theatrical contract. We strongly encourage the CEOs of studios and streaming platforms, along with the AMPTP, to return to negotiations and establish an equitable deal that our members rightfully expect and request."
This declaration comes amid the actors' 73-day strike period.
SAG-AFTRA initiated their strike on July 14, a fortnight after their contract lapsed on June 30. The union greenlit their strike authorization vote, securing an overwhelming 98% mandate, on June 5.
Discussions broke down on July 13, marking the first actors' strike against the film and TV industry since 1980. Although negotiations were ongoing, skeptics speculated that studios employed this tactic to afford specific Hollywood blockbusters more promotional lead time.
Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-AFTRA's National Executive Director and chief negotiator, consistently emphasized the union's readiness to return to the negotiating table with the AMPTP, which, throughout this process, has engaged exclusively with one party at a time.
"We've remained prepared, eager, and capable of continuing negotiations with them, and we sincerely hope the AMPTP will rejoin us at the table," he stated emphatically last month.

Deadpool and Wolverine are set to officially enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a thrilling development for fans. Director Shawn Levy, at the helm of Deadpool 3, hints at introducing more X-Men characters into the film. When discussing the highly anticipated first R-rated release from Marvel Studios, Levy emphasized that the movie will delve into the "Fox-Marvel Legacy," acknowledging the bygone era of Marvel-based films under 20th Century Fox and their integration into the MCU.

<h2>A 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' parody is coming soon to Comedy Central.</h2>
Comedy Central has given the greenlight to several new shows including 'Another Period', a 'Keeping with The Kardashians'.

"Another Period" centers on the misadventures of the Bellacourts, Newport, Rhode Island's first family, who have absolutely nothing to offer to the world, but who have so much money it doesn't matter.
The series focuses on sisters “Lillian” (Natasha Leggero) and “Beatrice” (Riki Lindhome), who care only about how they look, what parties they attend and becoming famous, which is a lot harder in 1902.

 The series is written, executive produced and stars Leggero and Lindhome, executive produced and directed by Jeremy Konner (“Drunk History”) and executive produced by Red Hour’s Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein. 

The new series will be a reality show set in  Victorian times.

Comedy Central 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' Parody Coming Soon

<h2 class="p1">After 20 seasons, '<a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/keeping-up-with-the-kardashians/">Keeping Up With The Kardashians</a>' is coming to an end and will air their final season in early 2021. The family announced their decision on Tuesday.</h2>
"It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians,'" the famous family said in a statement. Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/kim-kardashian/">Kim Kardashian West</a>, Khloé Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Scott Disick signed the statement. 
"After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and several spinoff shows, we've decided as a family to end this extraordinary journey. We are beyond grateful to all of you who've watched us for all of these years — through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We'll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we've met along the way."
The Kardashian-Jenner family thanked E!, production team Bunim/Murray and Ryan Seacrest, who helped launch and executive produce the show from the very beginning. 
E! also released a statement saying, "E! has been the home and extended family to the Kardashian-Jenners for what will be 14 years, featuring the lives of this empowering family," the network's statement reads. "Along with all of you, we have enjoyed following the intimate moments the family so bravely shared by letting us into their daily lives. While it has been an absolute privilege and we will miss them wholeheartedly, we respect the family's decision to live their lives without our cameras."
Keeping Up With the Kardashians was a significant hit for the network, which frequently airs reruns of the series. It was essential to note in 2017, E! signed a deal with the Kardashian-Jenner family for a three-year extension, which would take the show until 2020. The deal was valued at nine figures, and according to Variety, was valued below $100 million.

The show premiered in 2007 and made the Kardashian-Jenner family famous with clothing lines, apps, cosmetic companies, and event paparazzi following their every move. Since the show debuted, Kris Jenner is now known as one of the smartest businesswomen in the entertainment industry. Meanwhile, her former spouse Caitlyn Jenner transitioned into a transgender woman and received his E! Spinoff I Am Cait. 
When the show first aired, the family was known for their sex tape, which brought attention to Kim Kardashian, who was previously known as Paris Hilton's assistant. Today, Kim Kardashian is one of the most popular women in the world, with a vast social media following and movement for criminal justice reform. Kendall and Kylie, who were just kids when the show started, are now two of the most lucrative influencers in the world. 
Kim Kardashian-West posted to her 188 million followers, saying, "Without 'Keeping Up with The Kardashians,' I wouldn't be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported my family and me these past 14 incredible years," she wrote. "This show made us who we are, and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever."
In relevant news, Kim Kardashian West's husband, <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/news/kanye-president/">Kanye West, is still running for president</a>. Since announcing his presidential campaign in June, he's submitted the required documents and launched a rally in South Carolina. Kanye West spoke to attendees at Exquisites Event Center in North Charleston, South Carolina. West said wearing a security vest and wearing a "2020" haircut for the first rally of his campaign.
It did not take long to spark controversy. At one point during the speech, he looked to clarify the work of Harriet Tubman saying, "Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people." Later, West had an emotional moment speaking about his family with Kim Kardashian and addressed his past comments on Planned Parenthood. He broke down into tears revealing about his father's desire to abort him, and his wife having their first child "even when I didn't want to."
"I almost killed my daughter. I love my daughter. … God wants us to create," said West, who has several children with Kim Kardashian West. "No more Plan B — Plan A," he said, to the crowd response from the audience.

'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' To End After 20 Seasons

<h2>Are people sick of the Kardashians?</h2>
According to reports, ratings for Keeping UP with the Kardashians have continued to fall this season. This comes after Caitlyn Jenner's new book, which was released last week, has seen poor book sales.

This news comes after the fact that this season has dealt with some of the family's most dramatic moments yet. The second and third episodes of this season included Kim's robbery at gunpoint in Paris and the emotional aftermath of the traumatic experience.

But even with Kim's drama, the show only racked up 1.58 and 1.41million viewers for the two episodes.

The most recent episode, on April 30, 1.35 milion viewers. In the past, the show has regularly topped two million viewers.

Jenner's book was released last week but is currently ranked 49th on Amazon's best sellers list for biographies. The book is eight on the New York Times hardcover nonfiction best sellers list.

Last year, her reality TV series, I AM CAIT, was cancelled not long after it debuted on E!

Kylie Jenner, the youngest family member, is set to get her own spin-off, Life with Kylie, it was announced this week.
Kylie, 19, is now the most followed person on Snapchat, and is also a successful businesswoman thanks to her make-up line.
'The last couple years have been such an incredible journey with the support of my fans,' Kylie said in a statement. 'This show will allow me to give them a peek inside all of the exciting things I am working on, as well as some personal time with friends.'

'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' Ratings Continue to Drop

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are probably having one of the most traumatic periods of their lives, and their combined stresses have reportedly led to a complete shutdown of production on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2016/11/29/kuwtk-production-shut-down/">TMZ</a> reports Tuesday that despite plans to shoot during the holidays, “cameras will not roll for the rest of the year...possibly longer.”

It appears as though we will not be getting a closer look at Kanye's health issues, or Kim's own issues following the Paris robbery.
<blockquote>Sources connected with the production tell us producers have enough footage for the series commitment, but the plan was to film through the holidays, and that won't happen.

We're told <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2016/11/21/kanye-west-hospitalized/" target="_blank">Kanye's hospitalization</a> has temporarily shut down production, but Kim has been in such bad shape since the robbery that there was no real hope of shooting anything through December.</blockquote>
However, Radar Online is reporting the exact opposite of TMZ's claims, writing that the season "is not done filming." We will not know the truth until the next season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians resumes. But, until then we still have I AM Cait reruns to pass the time.

<h2 class="title ng-binding">Kim Kardashian ''could bleed to death'' if she gets pregnant again</h2>
Kim Kardashian "could bleed to death", if she decides to get pregnant again. On Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim, the mother of two, opened up about her desire to have another child. When the reality star consulted with two different doctors, both advised her not to get pregnant again. The two doctors told her it "wouldn't be safe" for her to get pregnant again.

It's important to point out that during Kim Kardashian's first two pregnancies, she experienced "difficulties" and if she were to get pregnant it would be considered a "high risk pregnancy."
"You could bleed to death" Kris Jenner told Kim.

Kim Kardashian ''could bleed to death'' If She Gets Pregnant Again

<h2>A 25-year-old homeless man is facing misdemeanor stalking charges after he reportedly made his way past Kendall Jenner's security gate and pounded on her car windows.</h2>
Kendall Jenner on Thursday testified against a 25-year-old homeless man accused of stalking her, telling jurors that she was terrified as he pounded on her car demanding to talk to her.

Shavaughn McKenzie was arrested on August 14th and charged with misdemeanor stalking after Jenner, 20, called her close friend, while panicking in her car. “I’ve never been so scared in my life,” she said in court, according to the <a href="http://bigstory.ap.org/article/9a4b7f86259040fb84d190b8d60e6dd1/kendall-jenner-arrives-court-testify-stalking-case">Associated Press</a>.

Jenner told police on the night of the incident that she noticed McKenzie sitting on the curb next to her house while she watched her security gate close to make sure he didn't slip through. When she thought she was safe, Kendall got out of her car but soon noticed McKenzie was hiding behind her car. She immediately got back in and locked her door as McKenzie began to pound his fists against the car, according to the police report.

Jenner told police officers she was frightened and asked McKenzie to leave, but he refused.

When police arrived, McKenzie, still seated on the curb, told them he was just trying to talk to her.

“It’s not like I had a gun,” officers reported him saying in their report. “I just wanted to have a conversation with her, but everything just went wrong. If she could just see what a chill guy I am, I know she’d want to be with me.”

Police later discovered McKenzie had an outstanding warrant and eight prior arrests for trespassing, although not involving Jenner. When he was apprehended, he was still on probation for one of those arrests.

Jenner, who told authorities she fears for her life and continues to suffer from emotional distress, was granted a five-year restraining order on Thursday that prohibits McKenzie from contacting her or coming within 100 yards of her home, car, or place of work.
