Casting directors are now casting the lead roles of Juanga and Lorena for the upcoming feature film.&nbsp;
The Netflix film adaptation of I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, an acclaimed New York Times novel, will be released. America Ferrera (Superstore, Real Women Have Curves) will direct Linda Yvette Ch&aacute;vez' (Gentefied) adaptation of Erika L. S&aacute;nchez's novel from the same name, which has won numerous awards.
Under its first-look deal with Aevitas Creative Management, Anonymous Content acquired the rights to the book.
Anonymous Content&rsquo;s Doreen Wilcox Little, MACRO&rsquo;s&nbsp; Charles D. King and Poppy Hanks, and Aevitas Creative Management&rsquo;s David Kuhn will produce the project. Executive producers include Aevitas&rsquo;s Michelle Brower, and MACRO&rsquo;s Greta Fuentes.
Ferrera has an Emmy&reg;, SAG&reg;, and Golden Globe&reg;-winning background as an actor, producer, director, and social activist. She most recently served as executive producer, director, and star of the NBC workplace comedy Superstore, which is now in its sixth and final season.
She is currently working on the second season of Netflix's Gentefied as executive producer and director.
Her extensive list of credits also includes her award-winning turn on the hit ABC series Ugly Betty, Diego Luna's biopic Cesar Chavez (ALMA Award Special achievement in Film), and the Oscar&reg;-nominated franchise features How to Train Your Dragon, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, and Real Women Have Curves.
Ferrera has been working for social change since her youth, co-founding Harness (to promote organizations and individuals' efforts on behalf of social justice) and the social networking site She Se Puede (a social networking platform dedicated to connecting and providing resources for the Latina community). Ferrera was one of the Times Up movement's founders, and she worked on numerous Biden/Harris and Georgia Senate grassroots efforts during the 2021 presidential election.

She is a two-time National Book Award finalist, as well as a New York Times Bestseller and a Graywolf debut novel. Her young adult book, I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter (Knopf Books for Young Readers), was released in October 2017 and is a National Book Awards finalist. The Last Jedi director has already become a favorite for someone at Lucasfilm and Disney. Just before Star Wars: The Last Jedi's theatrical release, Rian Johnson has already signed up for a brand new trilogy for the franchisee. According to the<a href="https://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/entertainment/20220503/jamaican-casting-begins-bob-marley-biopic"> Jamaica Gleaner</a>, the Marley family has announced the Jamaican casting calls have started for the upcoming feature film of Reggae legend Bob Marley&rsquo;s life. The new biopic is produced by Paramount Pictures.
Cedella Marley is the movie&rsquo;s producer on the project alongside Rita Marley, Ziggy Marley, and Stephen Marley. Reports say the family is &ldquo;wholeheartedly&rdquo; invested as partners in the project. "We view this project as a continuation of the tremendous and unending mission of sharing our father's commitment to the truth and to spreading love and oneness as he did during his time with us, and we're very excited to be in this phase," she said.
Regarding the Jamaican casting calls, she said it was a huge part in the overall success of the movie. "As much as Bob Marley is a global icon with a universal message, his roots are entrenched in Jamaica. We will soon have a new movie about Bob Marley. Paramount Pictures announced the company is working with King Richard&rsquo;s Reinaldo Marcus Green to direct the biopic on the Jamaican music icon for the studio.
Green said, &ldquo;Audiences want to know the real Bob, the man as well as the legend. I trust this film will bring us closer to understanding his journey, his music, and continue to carry the torch of his legacy with humility and grace, and most of all, love.&rdquo;
Ziggy Marley, Rita Marley, and Cedella Marley will produce on behalf of Tuff Gong. Robert Teitel will also produce. The film will focus on the singer&rsquo;s life and career.

<h2>Netflix's 'Daredevil' season 2 audition tapes have leaked online for the character Elektra.</h2>
Casting is underway for what appears to be the biggest character in the 'Daredevil' series. Some audition tapes for season two of 'Daredevil' have surfaced online, and it appears if they're for the popular character Elektra. Casting directors are looking for actresses with martial arts and dance experience.

The videos featured a conversation between Elektra and a potential victim, as well as one between Elektra and Matt Murdock. Whether the scenes will make it into the show is up in the air for now.

According to reports, after only eleven days on the streaming service, Netflix plans on releasing a second season of the hit action series.

'Daredevil' features Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire) and is the first of five Marvel series to debut on the streaming service. The series is expected to return in 2016.

The series will lead into Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage before all four combine for the miniseries 'The Defenders'.

'Daredevil' centers around a blind lawyer, with his other senses superhumanly enhanced, fights crime as a costumed superhero. 'Daredevil' features Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson.

The renewal shows that Netflix does not give up on their original content as every original show receives a second season. Netflix's original drama roster also consists of Bloodline, The Crown, House of Cards, Longmire, Marco Polo, Narcos, Sens8, The Get Down, The OA, Montauk and dramedy Orange Is the New Black, among others.

Netflix Renews 'Daredevil' for Season 2

<h2>Netflix's new TV series 'Marco Polo' has been renewed for a second season.</h2>
The TV series, which was originally developed for Starz, will return for another 10 episodes and production is set to start this year.

Marco Polo centers around&nbsp;Marco Polo's early years in the court of Kublai Khan, the Khagan of the Mongolian Empire and the founder of the Yuan dynasty, which would last from 1271-1368.&nbsp;The series was written and created by John Fusco and stars&nbsp;Lorenzo Richelmy&nbsp;as Marco Polo.

Marco Polo has been met with mixed to negative reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes the show holds a rating of 27%, based on 26 reviews, with an average rating of 4.6/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "An all-around disappointment, Marco Polo is less entertaining than a round of the game that shares its name."&nbsp;On Metacritic, the show has a score of 48 out of 100 based on 21 reviews by critics, indicating "mixed reviews.

Netflix's 'Marco Polo' Has Been Renewed for Season 2

<h2>The creator of 'Spartacus', Steven S. DeKinght will be the new show runner on Marvel-Netflix's "Daredevil"</h2>
Steven S. DeKnight will replace Drew Goddard as the show runner on Netflix's upcoming Marvel series, "Daredevil."

Marvel announced on Saturday that, Drew Goddard, who wrote the first two episodes of the series, will stay as the executive producer while he works on the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-man" spinoff film, "The Sinister Six."

DeKnight is known for creating "Spartacus" franchise for Starz, also helped produce projects such as "Smallville," "Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

The upcoming "Daredevil" movie centers on Matt Murdock, a blind superhero. Filming is set to start in July 2014 and all episodes will be available for streaming at the same time.

The Walt Disney Co. and Netflix have joined together for an original live-action series based on several Marvel characters including Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones. The partnership will also include a miniseries of the team called the "Defenders".

"Daredevil" Hires 'Spartacus' Creator for New Netflix Series

<h2>Marvel is giving fans a taste of what the new Daredevil television series on Netflix is going to be like.</h2>
Marvel CCO, Joe Quesda believes that fans will be binge-watching the series from beginning to end. “I've been working very, very closely with the entire team on all levels of the show,” Quesada told <a href="http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&amp;id=52717" target="_blank">Comic Book Resources</a>.

Quesda believes that his creative team are thinking about how people like to watch TV shows on Netflix and plans on developing a series structured for Netflix viewers.

“Daredevil” launches Marvel's partnership with Netflix, which includes a total of four shows that intertwine series leading up to the huge series, “The Defenders.”

Quesda commented that he enjoys the fact that Netflix has ordered fewer episodes for the Marvel productions. IT allows for fans to sit down and watch the entire series at one time.

Filming for the new "Daredevil" series is set to start in July 2014.

Netflix "Daredevil" Series Will Be Unlike Any Other Show on Television

<h2>Netflix picks up four Marvel Live-Action Series and a mini-series featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage for 2015.</h2>
Disney and Marvel are calling this an "unprecedented deal". Disney will provide Netflix with live action series and a miniseries featuring several Marvel characters. All of the Marvel characters will be set in Hell's Kitchen, New York.

Netflix has committed to at least four, 13-episode series over what is expected to be multiple years, starting in 2015.

The first released project will be,&nbsp;The Defenders,&nbsp;that&nbsp;&#147;reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.&#148;

The company&#146;s first live-action series for Disney, ABC&#146;s&nbsp;Marvel&#146;s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., premiered this fall and has been picked up for a full season.

Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Iron First Move to Netflix in 2016 After Exclusive Deal with Disney's Marvel

<h2 class="p1"><a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/netflix/">Netflix</a> has canceled <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/daredevil/">Daredevil </a>after three seasons, as the streaming company continues to cut its <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/marvel/">Marvel</a> streaming series.</h2>
Daredevil was the first of Netflix's live-action Marvel adaptations. The series first premiered three years ago in 2015 with Charlie Cox starring as Matt Murdock, a blind attorney who fights crime. The show’s most recent third season debuted just last month to positive reviews.
Netflix’s decision to cancel the series comes just a month after the cancellation of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, two other shows in the streaming platform based around the Defenders franchise.
“Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement on Thursday. “We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note. We’re thankful to our partners at Marvel, showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and an incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years.”

Netflix hints that the character could live on in some other way, shape or form. 
“While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel,” the statement continued.
That said, the decision to reduce the number of Marvel Television series appears to mark the end of the Marvel’s relationship with Netflix as Marvel’s parent company Disney is getting ready to launch a rival streaming service.
Marvel has already announced plans to create several projects for the upcoming Disney+, including at least spinoff of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film franchise.
The only Marvel series remaining are The Punisher and Jessica Jones, which have been renewed for additional seasons.

Netflix Cancels 'Daredevil' After Three Seasons

<h2>Charlie Cox's Star Wars audition was ruined by his role on 'Daredevil'.</h2>
Acting can be extremely challenging and when you move from one movie role to the next, it can be extremely frustrating. Just ask Charlie Cox.

Charlie Cox recently had an interview with the Hollywood Reporter to discuss his upcoming role in an off-Broadway production called Icognito. In the interview, Cox revealed playing Matt Murdock in Daredevil ruined his audition for Star Wars. 
<blockquote>I had gone to an audition—one of those things that are super secretive and they don’t tell you, but I’m pretty sure it was for the Han Solo reboot—and halfway through it, the casting director stopped me and said, ‘Why aren’t you looking at me?’ I realized I had gotten into a habit of not making eye contact, because the only thing I had done for two years is play someone who is blind. I never got invited back, probably because they couldn’t figure out why I was acting like a complete idiot.</blockquote>
That's right: Cox has gotten so used to playing blind as Matt Murdock, he  kept forgetting to make eye contact when auditioning for other roles. It's nice to see him so committed to acting in the Netflix series, even if it ends up making him unable to act in any other TV show or movie.

How Playing 'Daredevil' Ruined Charlie Cox's 'Star Wars' Audition'

A lot of people seem to hate the new season of Netflix's Daredevil.&nbsp;When it was announced that Netflix planned on releasing a new season of&nbsp;Daredevil,&nbsp;everyone was pretty much excited to see the superhero save New York.

However, ever since the series debuted on the streaming platform, people are less than thrilled about the new season. In fact, one critic said season 2 "is a straight-up disappointment.&#148;"

Daredevil&nbsp;centers around a blind lawyer who fights crime by day in the courtroom and by night as a superhero with extraordinary senses in this adaptation of the Marvel Comics character Daredevil.

'Daredevil' Sucks? Fans Bash Season 2

<h2>Matt Damon reveals that he would play 'Daredevil' in a reboot if Christopher Nolan directs it.</h2>
Speaking with  <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/matt-damon-dreamed-playing-daredevil-article-1.2372880" target="_blank">The Daily News</a> to promote his latest film, The Martian, Damon said he had the chance to play Daredevil in 2003 but ended up dropping from the movie because he wasn't familiar with the director. Had Christopher Nolan directed, it would have been a completely different story and possibly a completely different movie.

"For [me and Ben] it was always 'Daredevil' — that's the comic we read when we were kids," said Damon. "But when that one came along (in 2003) I chickened out, because I couldn't tell. I hadn't seen the director (Mark Steven Johnson's) work and I didn't know. So I just said, 'No.' Ben[Affleck] was like, 'I gotta do it.

Matt Damon added: "If Chris Nolan came up to me and said, 'I want to do Daredevil,' I would be in," Damon said. "Just putting that out there," he said, joking.

But, that Daredevil movie will probably never happen. Christopher NOlan currently has a deal to direct and produce Warner Bros. superhero movies, which makes a rival of Daredevil's Marvel. Charlie Cox is already cast in the Netflix series.

<h2>Daredevil Season 2 is now filming in New York City.</h2>
It was rumored that season two of 'Daredevil' would begin filming in July thanks to various reports from blogs, and now thanks to set photos we have confirmation that season 2 is now underway.

According to <a href="http://mcuexchange.com/daredevil-season-two-has-started-filming/">MCU Exchange</a>, the show is using the code-name 'Ringside' for season two instead of 'Bluff' which they used for the filming of season one.

No additional casting announcements have been made, which means you still have a chance at landing a role on Netflix's 'Daredevil' season 2.

With Bullseye and Elektra rumored to join season two of 'Daredevil', there's a very good chance we'll be hearing more casting news in the future.
