On Thursday evening, sources revealed that some last-minute concerns arose regarding what the management side perceived as new negotiation points raised by the WGA. This led to extended discussions, concluding around 7:30 p.m.
Plans for a third day of negotiations were confirmed shortly before the WGA's communication to its members at 9:45 p.m. PT. It remains uncertain whether the CEOs will reconvene at AMPTP headquarters in Sherman Oaks for a third day of bargaining.

Job Details: We are conducting a casting call for a photography and video shoot in New York City on October 3rd and 4th. We are looking for diverse families to participate in this project, which aims to capture the essence of familial bonds across different ethnicities.

James Cameron is always trying to push the limits of filmmaking. With a liquid metal Terminator, Titanic, and Avatar, Cameron has never taken the easy road to making a movie. It is expected for this continue in the new Avatar sequels.

James Cameron has been working on the sequel to Avatar for several years now. With Avatar 2 set to be released in December 2015, James Cameron is planning on shooting all three films at the same time. But, his biggest problem is writing.

Sometimes the hardest part to writing a sequel for a box office hit is to provide something people even better than the first. But, when you are James Cameron the world has higher standards. So, prior to filming James Cameron wanted to look back to his experiences while writing the TV series, "Dark Angel" featuring a younger Jessica Alba.

Here's what Cameron had to say:
<blockquote>We set ourselves a challenge of writing three films at the same time. And I could certainly write any one of them but to write three in some reasonable amount of time &#150; we wanted to shoot them together so we couldn&#146;t start one until all three scripts were done and approved.

But what we did that was unique was we sat in the writing room for five months, eight hours a day, and we worked out every beat of the story across all three films so it all connects as one, sort of, three film saga.</blockquote>
He hopes to reinvent the screenwriting process and provide people with a detailed world. By, writing all three movies he hopes that the writers will keep up with his ideas.
<blockquote>I don&#146;t know if that necessarily yields great scripts but it certainly worked for us as a process to get our minds around this kind of epic with all these new creatures, environments and characters and all that.</blockquote>

How James Cameron Wrote Three Avatar Sequels at Once

<h4>This time next year (October, 2014), Avatar will begin filming.</h4>
Sam Worthington confirmed what previously begin as a rumor, last week during a radio interview.

Worthington also said that the majority of the script for the sequel has already been written.

James Cameron is the writer of, as well as, the director of Avatar.

When filming begins next year, production plans to shoot the scenes for sequel two, three, and four.

Screenwriters were hired to help collaborate the screenplays for the sequels to follow.

Cameron was accused of plagiarizing, and not originally creating the idea for the movie Avatar.

A former employee was suing Cameron by the name of Eric Ryder.

Ryder wrote a script by the name of K.R.Z.2068, which he felt was very similar to Avatar.

However, a judge in California viewed each side&#146;s argument and felt as though Avatar was independently created.

Ryder&#146;s attorneys may consider appealing the decision.

There was a verbal war of continuous statements released by Cameron and Ryder.

Both Cameron and released statements and stating why they believe the other is wrong. Ryder continued to accuse Cameron of stealing his idea.

And Cameron accused Ryder of being another individuals who is looking for a pay day, just like many other individuals try to do whenever a movie is a box office hit.

After just six weeks of its release, James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water has made a monumental splash at the global box office by earning more than $2 billion, as reported by Variety. Earning this remarkable sum solidifies Avatar 2's place among the highest-grossing films ever released, with Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Titanic joining it on that list - not to mention its predecessor.
Cameron has been credited with three of the six films mentioned above, including The Way of Water, Avatar, and Titanic. On top of that, Zoe Salda&ntilde;a, who portrays Neytiri in Avatar, can be seen in four of these same six movies: Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.
Thirteen years since its premiere, Avatar continues to reign supreme at the box office as the highest-grossing movie. With a staggering global gross of $2.9 billion, it has left its mark in revenue and public reception. 'Avatar 2' is 7th Highest-Grossing Film Ever

Since the original 2009 blockbuster, it has been 13 years. James Cameron, the famed director of Titanic and Avatar, told The New York Times how releasing the sequel to the most financially successful film makes him feel.

In early 2009, the first Avatar earned nearly $3 billion, and the studio immediately sought to take advantage of the buzz by releasing a sequel as soon as possible. Cameron was adamant in not wanting to skimp on quality, but he did confess that waiting 13 years after 2009's massive hit worried him.
Cameron told the publication, "I was a little concerned that I had stretched the tether too far, in our fast-paced, modern world, with Avatar 2 coming in 12 years later." However, he explained that while he was holding his breath, Cameron had a sigh of relief when he realized that people were still interested, "Right until we dropped the teaser trailer, and we got 148 million views in 24 hours. There's that scarce seen but wondered at principle, which is, 'Wow, we haven't seen that in a long time, but I remember how cool it was back then.' Does that play in our favor? I don't know. I guess we're going to find out."
The third Avatar will premiere in December 2024, with the fourth and fifth movies following two years later.
About Avatar:
Avatar is a 2009 American epic science fiction film directed, written, produced, and co-edited by James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver. The film is set in the mid-22nd century when humans are colonizing Pandora, a lush habitable moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system, in order to mine the mineral unobtanium, a room-temperature superconductor. The expansion of the mining colony threatens the continued existence of a local tribe of Na'vi &ndash; a humanoid species indigenous to Pandora. James Cameron Was Concerned 'Avatar 2' "Would Lose Relevance"

[&#8230;] James Cameron’s ‘Avatar 2’ is On Hold Indefinitely [&#8230;]

<h2>'Avatar 2' will not be ready for Christmas 2017 putting the movie's release on hold until further notice.</h2>
<a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/tag/avatar-2/">Avatar 2</a> the first of three sequels to director <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/tag/james-cameron/">James Cameron's</a> 2009 sci-fi blockbuster, will not be ready for its planned Christmas 2017 release through 20th Century Fox.

The studio on Thursday declined to comment on the delay, which sources close to the situation confirmed to <a href="http://www.thewrap.com/james-camerons-avatar-2-wont-be-ready-for-christmas-2017-exclusive/">TheWrap</a>. 

There is no new release date for the movie, or word on the other two sequels, which Fox had planned to release in the same holiday season in 2018 and 2019.

This is the second delay for Avatar 2, which Fox originally planned to release by Christmas of this 2016. Cameron plans on shooting all three movies in the trilogy all at the same time in New Zealand. A soundstage and computer animation is still being developed, but a start date for filming has not been set.

Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are expected to reprise their roles in the movie, which is expected to pick up where the original movie left off, although Cameron has explained the movie may be set on the moon or underwater.

It's worth pointing out that the studio has never annoucned an official release date for Avatar 2. But, last month Cameron said 2017 release was on track, and Fox said the same last summer after visiting the director's office in New Zealand.

But, what's interesting is that Avatar changed their release date following Disney's announcement that they are moving their <a href="https://www.projectcasting.com/blog/news/star-wars-8-release-date/">Star Wars movie release dates</a> to December 15th, 2017.

As TheWrap explains, Disney wouldn't make that decision to directly compete with Avatar unless they know for certain that they would beat the competition in the box office:
It’s hard to imagine Disney CEO Robert Iger and “Star Wars” producers Kathleen Kennedy would shift their movie to that date, and re-calibrate the massive Disney marketing machine, unless they were virtually certain they’d have the season — and the pick of IMAX screens — to themselves.
“The Force Awakens” is currently No. 3 on the list of all-time top-grossing films globally with $1.9 billion, behind Cameron’s “Titanic” at $2.2 billion and “Avatar” at $2.8 billion. With both multiple sequels in both franchises on the way, Disney and Fox and their blockbusters should be going head-to-head for the next several years.
James Cameron is known for being a perfectionist and creating new technology for his movies, which probably explains why the movie is delayed. But, until the release of 'Avatar 2' is on hold indefinitely.

James Cameron's 'Avatar 2' is On Hold Indefinitely

<h2>James Cameron delays the release of 'Avatar 2' now the sequel will be released a year later in 2017.</h2>
According to reports, James Cameron is currently working alongside a group of screenwriters on not just one but three different Avatar movies. The mission is to film all three movies simultaneously and then releasing the movies one year after the other. It is a pretty risky move so, it is not surprising to learn that Cameron wants to spend more time developing the project before he starts filming.

Avatar 2's expected release has been pushed back several times in the past.&nbsp;Cameron's previous December 2016 release date for Avatar 2 was a little too early and he then pushed the movie back to late 2017 instead. He explained why he did it to the press in New Zealand - where he'll shoot the Avatar sequels - the process of writing the&nbsp;Avatar&nbsp;scripts while simultaneously designing the movie sets.

Here's how Cameron explained the situation, via <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/james-cameron-avatar-sequel-delayed-late-2017-28212928" target="_blank">ABC News</a>:
<blockquote>&#147;There&#146;s a layer of complexity in getting the story to work as a saga across three films that you don&#146;t get when you&#146;re making a stand-alone film. [My team and I are]&nbsp;writing three simultaneously. And we&#146;ve done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films. We&#146;re not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that. And parallel with that, we&#146;re doing all the design. So we&#146;ve designed all the creatures and the environments.&#148;</blockquote>
The new development strategy means that Avatar 2 will not hit theaters until eight years after the first&nbsp;Avatar&nbsp;opened in theaters. &nbsp;It is probably a good strategy for the Avatar franchise since Cameron is reponsible for the two highest-grossing movies of all time. But, the longer Cameron waits to start filming for Avatar, more and more people will start losing interest.

Avatar 2 is now expected to reach theaters in late 2017, followed by Avatar 3 in 2018 and Avatar 4 in 2019.
