Vin Diesel Announces Riddick Sequel and Spinoff TV Series

Vin Diesel took to Instagram on Friday to share the news that his production company has started working on another Riddick sequel and a spinoff TV series.

“Last night Our company had a party to launch Our TV division,” Diesel wrote in a post accompanying a still from the series. “Very exciting. MERC CITY is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe.”

“Next Month, DT [writer-director David Twohy] begins writing the next Chapter in the Chronicles of Riddick… FURIA,” the post continued.

 

The last Riddick movie came out in 2013 which Diesel’s company One Road Films produced after acquiring the rights to the franchise from Universal. Despite, bad reviews, the movie went on to earn $98 million at the box office.

It is important to note that Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick helped launch the actor’s acting career.
