‘The Ring 3’ Now Filming in Atlanta, Georgia

Paramount Pictures ‘The Ring’ sequel, ‘The Ring 3’ is now filming in Atlanta, Georgia

The sequel to the critically acclaimed horror-thriller, ‘The Ring 3’ is ramping up production in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to reports, Filming of ‘The Ring 3’ started earlier last month in East Mountain Studios in Conyers, Georgia.

Conyers-Rockdale Economic Development Council members were told Tuesday that the Paramount Pictures production is expected to begin filming Oct. 27 at East Mountain Studios. Local work on the film is expected to continue through April.

“The Ring 3” is the sequel based on the Japanese cult series. The sequel to “The Ring” will revolve around a mysterious video tape that kills its viewers a week after the person watches it. According to Variety, Paramount Pictures has hired F. Javier Gutierrez to direct the sequel in “The Ring” franchise. Gutierrez is also attached to direct “The Crow” reboot for Relativity and the Weinstein Company and also directed “Before the Fall.”

The Georgia film industry has exploded in the last five years. Gina Hartsell, the project manager and film liaison for Conyers-Rockdale Economic Development Council revealed that “We’ve had many, many studios looking here, and we’ve had good relationships so far,” Hartsell said.

Rockdale County has been designated as Camera Ready by the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office (FMDE). The designation is given to Georgia communities interested in attracting film and television production by providing better access to production resources and location information.
