Rape Joke on the Simpsons – Family Guy Crossover Episode Have Many Upset

Date:

Did the Simpsons and Family Guy go too far?

People are upset about a joke on the upcoming crossover episode of The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Over the summer, FOX released a trailer for their upcoming crossover episode of The Simpsons and Family Guy. In that 4-minute trailer, it featured a scene where Bart, Stweie and Brian prank call Moe the bartender. If you have ever watched ‘The Simpsons’ you know the prank sequence.

In the crossover episode, Bart pulls another prank on Moe and then Stewie jumps in and tries one of his own.

“Hello Moe, your sister’s being raped.”

According to The Independent, many people have asked for the joke to be removed.

Tim Winter of the Parents Television Council told AP: “I was blown out of my shoes when I saw the scene with the rape joke in it, It really troubled me.” He added that he found it particularly offensive in the context of stories about sexual assaults on college campuses and the recent abusive treatment of women by NFL players, claiming that when you make rape a punch line “it becomes less outrageous in real life.”

If the trailer shows us anything, the ‘Simpsons Guy‘ episode will be filled with more controversy and criticism when it airs on Sunday night.
