Wonders will never cease! Quentin Tarantino is preparing to take movie-goers on one final ride with his upcoming and much-anticipated 10th feature film, The Movie Critic.
Reports indicate that the filmmaker has completed crafting the script and is now gearing up to direct it this autumn. Though the plot is being kept a closely guarded secret, sources have revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that The Movie Critic will take place in 1970s Los Angeles with a leading lady who could be based on Pauline Kael – an iconic movie critic whose unconventional reviews had been known to shape public opinion.
Claiming he would retire when he reached sixty years of age, Quentin Tarantino is gearing up for his final year as a filmmaker and has released an impressive ten movies so far. During a 2021 conversation with Bill Maher, he professed that based on filmography trends, directors need to hone their craft after completing their tenth movie. “I haven’t retired yet; I still have another one to go. I don’t have a reason that I would want to say out loud that will win any argument in a court of public opinion or a Supreme Court or anything like that,” Moreover, he added. “But at the same time, working for 30 years doing as many movies as I’ve done, which is not as many as other people, is a long career. That’s a long career. And I’ve given it everything I have. Every single solitary thing I have.”
